The following is a list of area weather-related closures and cancellations.

- Due to high winds and local road conditions Searchmont will not be open for night skiing tonight. Lifts will re-open tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.

The Searchmont Snow Bus for this evening departing from the City Transit terminal is also cancelled. For more information on Searchmont, visit www.searchmont.com

- Winter Playday at Johnson Tarbutt Central School is cancelled for today because of buses being cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

Then explain why the mackinaw bridge is closed if there is no storm???? maybe you weren't out and about earlier, when it was blowing snow.. and icy roads.. it has calmed down for now.. but that doesn't mean it will stay like that =P

Just drove the north highway from the soo. Its not storming here yet anyway. Have to be alot worse then this to warrent any closures thus far.

missmessh... the Mackinac is 50 miles away. The weather can be completely different there, much as it also can be both east and north of here.

We got a lot of blowing snow, and it made road conditions nasty, but I'm not sure I would call what we had here a "storm."

Javaman... the headline both and the story say "weather-related closures." Nothing about a "storm."
