I thought they were competing against the winner of the Switzerland/Sweden game.

The city should consider renaming the part of Anita Blvd. where the Soo Curling Rink is to 'Team Jacobs Blvd.'

Go Team Jacobs!

I am wondering if, and hoping, that the Sault will fork out some of our tax money and put some banners up across at least two major intersections to welcome team Jacobs home?

Maybe they do have some up and I've missed them? Team Jacobs certainly deserves a city wide welcome, whether they get the gold or not.

C'mon Sault Ste Marie, show them we are so PROUD of them!
Sam The Dog 2/20/2014 8:04:33 AM Report

Maybe MTO could set up their Mobile Lighted Traffic Signs on Airport Rd. / 2nd Line welcoming the Team Home. Win or lose this is huge for our area and country.

Good on the Essar Centre. Shame on the businesses around town. Shame on the Sault Star. Here we have a team playing for a medal at the Olympics for heaven sake and what have we done?? Big spread in the newspaper about the Greyhounds - which is all well and good - but when did they last play at the Olympics?? When did they last play for the Memorial Cup? I can't believe our passiveness towards such a great accomplishment. Are we all waiting for them to bring back gold and if they don't - oh well then. They are there - making dreams come true and here we sit with no banners, no business signs, no city outward appreciation. Yes, I am a curler, and no I don't follow the Greyhounds (blasphemous, I know) but we should be very proud of each and every person/team who does something positive for our city. I cannot imagine the work they have put into this. The passion they have. We complain that all our young people are leaving. Here are 3 out of 4 who are still here, working and doing something simply awesome. Let's get those signs up before they come home with whatever medal they get. Here's hoping the best for them - play well - enjoy the experience and feel good about what you have done so far and e keep your goals high.

Not sure where you are but there's signs and support all over town. It's been awesome to see how the entire city has behind of our curling boys. Lots of coverage on sootoday, local 2 and shaw.
Veterans 2/20/2014 1:47:47 PM Report

Well, there are 4 on the entire Second Line - there are very few (if any downtown)There is one at the East End of the City - Black Rd. area. Please tell me where they all are - I don't see them and I would like to send Kudos to those businesses/individuals that have them out.
