Legalize it.And move on to the serious issues
skeezer01 2/19/2014 9:29:46 AM Report

7 months later and the charges have been dealt with and someone has already taken the heat and did the time. I'm sure there are much more important issues at hand !
Dixiepup 2/19/2014 9:32:54 AM Report

What a waste of time and manpower...meanwhile the b and e boys, and hookers are taking over the city.
Mactenzie 2/19/2014 10:03:02 AM Report

@sootodayreader - you have a lot of time on your hands. get a life. what a stooge comment.
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 10:28:01 AM Report

Looks like it to me
Bad Dawg 2/19/2014 10:37:54 AM Report

I don't think he was the owner of the car they got busted in. Cops had to figure out whose it was. Seems they took 7 months to match his finger prints to the baggies. What a waste of money.

I am not in favor of the legalization of pot... but rather have it decriminalized.
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 10:45:54 AM Report

Just what we need pot head zombies walking around the streets.
Keep it illegal
mikey2007 2/19/2014 10:50:49 AM Report

Dixiepup - Where exactly are all of these hookers that are taking over the city?? I never see them. Asking for a friend by the way.
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 10:52:38 AM Report

A dopey move by an intoxicated man led police to a large stash of pot during a vehicle stop early Thursday.

Patrol officers saw an automobile, northbound on Pine Street, being driven at a high rate of speed at about 2 a.m. The driver was stopped on Northern Avenue.

The driver was under the influence of alcohol, police say.

A passenger, who also had been drinking, asked if he could get some of his property from the trunk.

A large quantity of marijuana, about 1,400 grams with a street value of $27,200, was found stashed in five clear bags. They were placed in red and green bags inside a black garbage bag. A digital scale and packing supplies were also seized.

“They did the vehicle stop. They opened the trunk. There it was,” said Staff Sgt. Jane Martynuck.

Vehicles are typically towed and impounded for seven days when a driver is arrested for an impaired charge. The accused's driver's licence is seized for 90 days.

Police don't often check a trunk's contents.

“There may be circumstances, but not usually,” said Martynuck.

One exception could be if police suspect dangerous goods are in the trunk, said Const. Troy Miller.

Kyle Thibodeau, 22, of 350 Pine St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Mark Lomas, 21, of 49 Fairmont Dr., was charged with consume over the legal limit.

Looks like Mark the driver pinned it on his idiot friend.
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 10:59:07 AM Report

At least, tried to. Until his finger prints came back on the zippys.
Bad Dawg 2/19/2014 11:05:41 AM Report

sootodayreader.... What is your problem with pot?? Is it just the fact that it is illegal??

I used to smoke. Never once did it make me try a harder drug. I was offered them sure but it wasn't the pots fault!! It was my decision not too try them.

your medicine cabinet has a lot more harmful drugs than a bag of weed.
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 11:09:23 AM Report

I agree most of the chemical junk the drug companies pump out should be illegal as well.
As for the rest of your statement it's baked like you.
Mactenzie 2/19/2014 11:19:02 AM Report

"sootodayreader" I guess you don't do enough reading between the lines to see the passenger put it on himself, no one threw anyone under the bus. "A passenger, who also had been drinking, asked if he could get some of his property from the trunk." sounds like your just some old grump that has nothing better to do than to complain about articles on sootoday, and point fingers at stuff you obviously know nothing about. I suggest you stay in your house, close the curtains, you're useless to society.
Dixiepup 2/19/2014 12:25:05 PM Report

Mikey 2000, can't you recognize sarcasm when you read it? Just saying that there are more important issues for our good officers to spend time on. And I do mean that they are good, the pot war is lost, give it up and get on with real law enforcement

I give up, auto correct!
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 12:29:27 PM Report

Right, that is why he didn't get charged 7 months later when his finger prints were in fact on the bags. Yah your right baked Mckenzie dude, he didn't throw his friend under the bus who was charged with possession in August.
Dead heads like you is why pot should be illegal.
Bad Dawg 2/19/2014 1:22:18 PM Report

just on a rant eh??? I USED TO smoke is what I said..... you need to get in the medicine cabinet and take some happy pills, random handfuls is what the kids are doing now... my parents were grateful that all I did was pot back in the day.

I am dreading what my kids are going to be offered... would consider pot harmless compared to taking a handful of some pills. As they could overdose and die. No one has overdosed and died from smoking too much pot. EVER!!
sootodayreader 2/19/2014 1:40:37 PM Report

Clearly it effected your brain.

Marijuana is the devils drug. It causes noting but crime and wastes away a life. There should be a maditory life sentence for anybody caught with drugs like marijuana.

lp670-4 Super Veloce 2/19/2014 6:57:04 PM Report

@Bad Dawg. What do you mean, my spelling is impeccable. and its not idiotic. if you do drugs you a looser. no matter what it is. marijuana ruins lives. People who smoke marijuana go out and rob stores and kill people for no reason. and they will steal just to support their drug habbit.
Bad Dawg 2/19/2014 7:37:45 PM Report

yeah bad people do bad things. again its not only pot those hooligans were on..... get rid of alcohol, tobacco because they make you do crimes too.
lp670-4 Super Veloce 2/19/2014 7:48:53 PM Report

Alcohol isn't nearly as harmful as marijuana. even heroin isn't as bad. if it werent for pot im sure drugs wouldnt be such a problem. id much rather have people walking around doing heroin than smoking pot in public.
