Tuesday, February 18, 2014   by: Donna Hopper

Some may call them brave.

Others call them crazy.

Everyone calls the event fun.

The 51st annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival wrapped this afternoon with the festival's crown jewel, the Polar Bear Swim.

More than 200 brave/crazy people took the icy plunge into the St. Marys River at Bellevue Park on this sunny day.

We saw belly-flops, we saw cannon balls, Mr. Bon Soo got lots of love, and we're sure everyone will agree that the small but tenacious group of Japanese students win winter.

Taking the their chilly dip not once but twice, the lads paused to pose for the cameras, proudly displaying their frozen Japanese flag before heading to the hot tub.

For those of you who have just about had it with the cold, Environment Canada is calling for slightly warmer temperatures later this coming week.
