When they find them they should be tied naked to a tree on the same stretch of road with signs telling the world what they did...And not in midsummer, altho the blackflies might use them for food. If they were abandoned and not just lost the owners deserve no sympathy whatever....
sAUCEY 2/3/2014 2:44:30 PM Report

Quick to judge there guy. The dogs could of ran away and the owners could of been looking for a while, you dont no the facts. Its not like they were dropped off at a door step..
SooPets 2/3/2014 3:04:43 PM Report

Glad we are not back in the witch-hunt days, as people have tried and hung the owners without knowing anything!!! People should not be so quick to assume these poor dogs were abandoned. I would be more likely to think that two dogs running together bolted from their yard, chasing something, and have been missing for days, but nobody knows. I will not judge the owner until I know the facts.
nobodycares 2/3/2014 3:05:17 PM Report

Would also be nice to know the physical condition of the dogs, are they starving. Have they been abused. But on the other side why are there no tags
right wing 2/3/2014 3:05:59 PM Report

Exactly my thoughts.
Hardly enough information to prove intentional abandonment.
Put away your ropes, the facts are hardly all known on this one.
stormy shores 2/3/2014 3:36:01 PM Report

This article breaks my heart! I along with many others love animals. But if it is proven that these animals were abandoned then the party/parties should be dealt with appropriately.
Just Curious 2/3/2014 3:45:05 PM Report

PEOPLE.....Go back and reread and try a bit of learning comprehension... I said if they ran away, different ball game, but if they WERE abandoned, hang the bastards that did it.. No quarter. @rw, you should take over Dave's column, you're getting good at sitting on the fence... Actually a far cry from when you are defending the soon-to- be loser party.. :). I have a lot more sympathy for the dogs than Steve.. LOL :)

Just Curious 2/3/2014 3:47:05 PM Report

And a big PS here, folks.. It's been almost two weeks and nobody has said they lost them so I will draw my own conclusions, thank you..
Bad Dawg 2/3/2014 4:14:05 PM Report

no flyers no report of the dogs missing no media??
sounds like they tried really hard to find their dogs..... people who can't take care of a dog does make you a loser and a criminal too
dust2 2/3/2014 4:22:50 PM Report

Let the witch hunt begin from the ignorant people here.

It's sickening how quickly people will make violent threats to animal owners. People sit here and complain about how kids should be hit by their parents and told to 'smarten up', yet if you hit a dog suddenly you should be tied to a pole and burned to death.

People hit their kids every day and no one says a word, yet the second an animal is abused, oh my god the whole world needs to stop to address the issue.
Just Curious 2/3/2014 4:55:24 PM Report

dust2, you really need to get a life or a perspective on one. You come on here blathering about anything under the sun and judging by your post , you don't have a clue. hell you don't have a click and it takes 10 clicks to make a clue.. We aren't talking about some one taking a 2x4 to their kids(and judging by some of the airhead criminals we see posted on here every day it should have happened), we are talking about 2 helpless dogs that probably have done nothing in their lives to deserve this treatment, unlike a hell of a lot of losers that are on here every day in the police beat. Live a damn life before you start judging a life.. You remind me of childrens Aid workers that have never had a child but feel they are entitled to tell the world how to raise theirs. Bear in mind, some of these enlightened people are responsible in hindsight for some of the most hideous child abuse cases you can imagine..
OMGWTF 2/3/2014 5:07:48 PM Report

String up parents who abuse kids and anyone who abuses animals. There's no excuse for either. Case closed
irishfey 2/3/2014 5:34:51 PM Report

Just Curious.. well said!!!
irishfey 2/3/2014 5:37:17 PM Report

A big THANK YOU to the folks that found them and took the time to pick them up!!!!... Bless you!!!
Tag33&1/3rd 2/3/2014 5:40:50 PM Report

I really doubt they just ran away.
Old Man Winter 2/3/2014 5:49:46 PM Report

I hope that the dogs are being taken care of.
FirstChairLastCall 2/3/2014 7:11:48 PM Report

Common sense tells me the OPP would not have made this video without first checking with local shelter, etc to see if any reports were filed. Clearly, there weren't.

Not to mention, Chapleau is a small place. It's logical to assume that neighbours and other community members would have been aware of two missing dogs. Obviously they weren't aware leading to the conclusion that this was an act of cruelty and nothing else. (If the shelter didn't know, this person wasn't looking for their dogs)

Also, dogs aren't stupid. They know when it's cold and would likely not have roamed that far to a desolate highway. They would stick close to home. Especially the dark colored dog.

Unlessh the owner is dead, they have done something very wrong and deserve to be charged and more.
boilertyme 2/4/2014 4:43:41 AM Report

During hard economic times animals are the first luxury to go. Make sure the childrens stomachs are full before you take care of dogs.
Nokita_20 2/4/2014 1:17:14 PM Report

They have been reported. I know who they are and Crime Stoppers have been notified.
Tag33&1/3rd 2/4/2014 7:06:37 PM Report

Way to go Nokita!
Tag33&1/3rd 2/4/2014 7:42:28 PM Report

I hope Soo2day updates us since Nokita reported them. Obviously was done intentionally!! Wow!! Cruel!!! (don't let these people have anymore pets!)
Kat1616 2/5/2014 9:41:40 AM Report

If they need a home, I'm willing to provide them with a loving home.
