Ya if you check that Montreal River radar it looks like we are in for a lot of snow today!

By the way---Thanks to the guy that gave that tip to us about the montreal river radar a week or 2 ago! I check it on my cell everyday!

If Transfield does all the Highways the Mto does all the collector roads, who looks over their shoulder.
We have went for days without plowing on these roads in Goulais, what a crappy job they are doing.

wouldn't it be less work to just report when its open?

Been trying to get up the last two mornings, no go! It does look bad today though.
old-cat33 1/30/2014 8:01:28 AM Report

We got more snow than China has rice!
The hi way will be closed due to poor visibility not because the roads ain't plowed or sanded!
stan jr 1/30/2014 9:21:38 AM Report

Its strange even with the bad weather they never close the 400 hywys, perhaps we should get some snow plows from dow south. Apparently there is a lack equipment and drivers to keep this Trans Canada hywy open
crashed13 1/30/2014 10:15:28 AM Report

I also thought they close that hwy 17 N due to being over cautious.
But I was driving to Wawa and it was not even closed and the visibility was almost zero.

If you can't see the jig is up, its not about snow depth. Its the blowing snow that does it. Plows can't help with visibility.

"Its strange even with the bad weather they never close the 400 hywys"

Yes, very strange indeed!
This is why they have 50 car pileups!!
minoutche 1/30/2014 1:33:15 PM Report

At least people are complaining about Transfield now and not the city boys!!! It's winter and we have to learn to live with it or head to warmer climates for the winter months! Drive carefully and slow down if allowed.

What else is new? This area closes about 500 times per winter.

Someone must of got a talking to. Hwy 129 to Chapleau was loaded with sand last Sunday.
I have never seen that much sand on that Hwy in a lot of years..
Probably should have took a picture. We will see how long that kind of Hwy maintenance lasts...
