Monday, January 13, 2014   by: Staff

The City of Sault Ste. Marie is currently in the process of updating its Parks and Recreation Master Strategy Plan for the Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie.

The City recognizes that citizens in our community have a diverse wealth of knowledge and your comments, feedback and support is needed as we further develop the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

Take time to learn about the Plan and ensure it includes your views.

We will be hosting the following Senior Citizens Community Engagement Sessions:

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 – 1:30 p.m. Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, 619 Bay Street

Wednesday, January 29, 2014 – 1:30 p.m. Steelton Seniors Centre, 235 Wellington Street West

Please assist us in identifying the needs and priorities related to recreation, parks, facilities and leisure services within the community of Sault Ste. Marie over the next five to 10 years.

Engagement sessions for other sectors of the community will be announced soon! For more information, contact the Community Services Department at 705-759-5310.

We don't need to spend tax dollars on rec projects for seniors.

Deepak Chopra CEO of Canada Post is going to put them through a vigorous regiment of marching through the ice and snow.

You post as if seniors are complete shut-ins who never venture out into the BIG WORLD !!

Its probably safe to assume they have a system of getting groceries .. or how about when they head out to shuffle around the mall or drive down great northern at 5km/h ... do you think that while they are doing any of these things they could maybe pick up the mail ??
