Where could he have gone?? He may have become disoriented on leaving the hospital parking lot (I assume he did enter the bldg & visit the intended person)and turned in the wrong direction. Hoping he is found soon safe & sound. Prayers

Video footage of him inside the hospital? Or of the outside parking lot where he parked?

Good he's safe!

Good for the OPP. Mr Lewis is the uncle of Chris Lewis, OPP Commissioner!
Glad that he is safe and at home again.
Just Curious 1/14/2014 9:03:23 AM Report

Armstrong??? Is that the Armstrong Ontario that is about 140 miles north of Thunder Bay??? That's a tad past the hospital, I'd say...Sure glad he was found safe.. Good job by the police..
Meaghan 1/14/2014 9:38:09 AM Report

Amazing job OPP. His family thanks you!!! *much love*
Tills 1/14/2014 9:41:09 AM Report

My concern is..should this gentleman still be allowed to drive? If he was disoriented then the license should be pulled for the safety of himself and the general public.
Beej 1/14/2014 10:12:25 AM Report

There are far too many elderly people driving that shouldn't be.
Very dangerous, many lie on their DL renewals about health, eyesight issues.
maltese 1/14/2014 10:16:54 AM Report

Just happy that Mr Lewis was found safe & sound although quite far from home. The public is not going to hear all the details so it is not fair to judge the individual publicly. I'm sure his family will make those decisions in private.
OPP Commissioner 1/14/2014 10:24:56 AM Report

Gordie Lewis is in fact my uncle. I'm so glad he's okay. Many thanks to the Sault Police Service and the OPP for their efforts and for finding him safe. His loving family and his Dr will have to assess what happened and make some difficult decisions to ensure his safety and the safety of others. Thanks to all.
Alystr 1/14/2014 10:44:13 AM Report

Did he intend to be in that area? Holy crap, that is one hell of a drive. Glad he is safe..
scottstewy123 1/14/2014 10:44:29 AM Report

Jeeze maybe he just decided to go for a drive people. Just because he suddenly decided to drive some were does not mean he has dementia. My God it seems with seniors some of you want to strip them of all there rights and cage them. If a senior wants to suddenly go some were my word let them . Obviously dementia was not the case here.

Bill_the_Cat 1/14/2014 12:16:39 PM Report

Run, Gordon, run!
Voxboy876 1/14/2014 12:29:13 PM Report

Glad he is safe. Why would his driving come into this. Sounds like a good driver to me. Why assume dementia?? Sometimes you just gotta get your car and drive.
Tag33&1/3rd 1/14/2014 1:02:34 PM Report

Well put 'cuz! #1 thing is he's ok and safe!
Sam C 1/14/2014 3:03:29 PM Report

Hey, if he can make it from here to Armstrong in a day, there's nothing wrong with his driving. Glad he's okay.
