JOINT NEWS RELEASE

SAULT COLLEGE

BON SOO WINTER CARNIVAL

**************************
SAULT STE MARIE - We are just weeks away from February, and planning for the city’s highly anticipated annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival is well underway.

Mr. Bon Soo will soon be lacing up his boots, tuning his guitar, and putting on his dancing shoes in anticipation of the return of The Marquee!

Bon Soo is pleased to announce that after the success of last year’s Marquee event, they have again partnered with the students in the Public Relations and Event Management Program (PEM) at Sault College to bring to life the second annual Marquee event.

Click here to see Mr. Bon Soo prepare to perform with the PEM students.

The Marquee is a nine-day event chock full of live performances that showcase local musicians, dancers, singers, artists, and cultural groups.

A brand new location guarantees to please the crowd, with non-stop entertainment.

Best of all, admission to this exciting event is included with your Bon Soo 2014 Souvenir Button.

This showcase of local talent will follow the same hours (and be located at) the Tim Horton’s Winter Playground, and will run from Saturday, February 8-Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Last year, the Sault was introduced to the Marquee with a great premiere event that provided attendees with over 16 hours of live and interactive performances and over 170 performers hitting the stage.

Some of the amazing acts that showcased their talent on The Marquee stage included: Killabeatz, Alexis Au Lait, Guy Smith, Lazer Queen, and the Zaghareets; as well as the students of Soo Dan Hap Ki Do, Davey Dance, Sherry Walsh and Soo Dance Unlimited.

This year’s students have been hard at work securing performances that highlight the city’s rich culture.

The PEM students are in the process of securing local talent to feature during this live event.

This year, the organizing team is looking to include both returning performers, as well as new aspiring acts.

If you are interested in performing at The Marquee, simply send an email to [email protected] to submit your name and talent to the student team.

The partnership between the PEM program and Bon Soo is a great chance for the students to take what they are learning in the classroom and implement their newfound skills in a real-life project.

Bon Soo and the students in the Sault College PEM program would like to encourage everyone to come out and enjoy some of our community’s spectacular talent come February.
