Hang the little piece of sh*t. Make an example of him, im so tired of seeing impaired drivers, i wish they would start getting killed instead of killing innocent people.

This makes the news ? Last Tuesday an adult woman in a motorised wheelchair was run over at the intersection of Carmans Way and was taken to the hospital in very serious condition. this has not been reported by Soo Today after being notified several times but the name of some guy who hits a snowbank is news. Why does Soo Today not report the real news as it happens ? Perhaps because the sidewalks were not plowed and the city may face litigation. What a sad show these people run. Incompetence at its best.

I don't know where the accident occurred but the intersection of Comnee Ave. and Carmens Way is very dangerous for people trying to across it. Carmen Way is very wide and takes 18 to 20 seconds to get to the other side. Take into account the speeders coming around the bend from John St. and you have to start running if you want to save your life. The city is aware of this situation because I informed the ward four alderman several years ago and I was told that he didn't see any safety issues concerning that intersection. He also made the statement that that he often drove by that area and he never seen anyone crossing the intersection. Therefore in his mind no one ever crosses it even though he is not around the remaining twenty three hours and fifty nine minuted to verify his claim.

frnlak - why is it SooTodays fault that the cops don`t release info to the public like they should. One of their own trucks was in an accident on Grace street last week and they didn`t release the info in their daily reports to the public, but Sootoday had a photo and reported on it, the police said nadda. Call the cops and ask them why someone seriously injured on Carmens way is not important enough for the public to know.
Here is the non emerg number:
(705) 949-6300
Get back to us and let us know what they had to say.

You should have pressed your alderman more. It is their place to take your concerns and act on them. We do not want to hear what they have to say about their experiences at that intersection. Use students to monitor the corner, set up a camera for a week to see that people do not stop when they should. To slush you off and do nothing is unexceptable. Elections are coming up this year. Lets say goodbye to this alderman and vote someone in that listens and acts to our concerns without excuses.
