Why not attempted murder, I wonder?
Yve2010 1/3/2014 11:30:35 AM Report

That is very sad. I know Ryan and have for many many years. He is the most docile person you will meet. He is mentally challenged. There has to be way more to this then is being told. For him to assault someone to this extent or assault for that matter , there had to be something very wrong to trigger him. I dont defend people like this that make the news but this case i have to wonder what really happened.
MarcHandthefunkybunch 1/3/2014 3:31:51 PM Report

It was his father. His dad was a great man who wouldn't hurt a fly. I hope the charges are muchore severe.
Pakadeva 1/3/2014 4:22:40 PM Report

Yes, there's a missing link here. If they both "wouldn't hurt a fly", no one would be dead. It will be interesting to see this sad case unfold.
Yve2010 1/3/2014 5:22:26 PM Report

You obviously dont know his father or family history. I wont go into details but for Ryan to have done that something provoked him. They both drink like fish as well which plays a factor in this.
MarcHandthefunkybunch 1/3/2014 5:36:47 PM Report

Yves,
You clearly don't know the family. I know Leo extremely well, and although he has a beer every now and then, to say he, "drinks like a fish", is an outright lie. He has done everything for that kid. Ryan has some major issues and should be in a home. Thankfully now, he'll be in jail for 10+ Years and hopefully Leo can recover.
redford 1/3/2014 5:47:52 PM Report

Yves,
After stating that you do not want to go into details, then commenting the way you did???
...makes me think you are a "dipst!ck"
Yve2010 1/3/2014 6:07:29 PM Report

I guess we both know different things. He should of been involved with CLA when he was a kid. :( either way I hope he makes a full recovery and Ryan gets the help he needs.
No one deserves to be assaulted like that.( with the exceptions of pedophiles and rapists)
Im not here to bash anyone. Just pointing out that it must of been something really bad to make him do what he did. Check out sootoday, see any other charges with Ryans name? Hes not the kind of person who goes out to look for trouble. He will walk away forma fight, hes been picked on all his life because of his disability. He never got the proper help he needed.
Either way, I pray his father makes it. And I hope Ryan gets the help he needs. Very sad situation :(
Sorry If i Look like a dipshit to you all :) Honestly I dont give a rats ass. Theres always 2 sides to every story.
MarcHandthefunkybunch 1/3/2014 6:35:26 PM Report

Agreed Yves
Working Man 1/4/2014 12:47:42 AM Report

Yve, marc,

If he was mentally challenged, he had every right to defend himself not only physically but emotionally/mentally. They both are just as bad.

Psychological studies have proven that rejection affects the same part of the brain as physical pain does. This guy was apparently rejected all of his life. Ppl can only take so much.

Some people are falsely accused of rape, or pedophilia; yeah, even after an invitation to sexual touching by the opposing party... Not uncommon at all!!!

Marc,

You're an ****ole.. You know the guy extremely well but don't mind badmouthing him or his son!!! If I was him, you're out!! Out!! Completely disfellowshipped!--Done! You are obviously not a friend of this guy; You dip-**it!!!
ya....right 1/4/2014 7:37:12 AM Report

Ok, we all know that this is a father and son, correct? So how is this not domestic assault and therefore the name of the accused is not made public to protect the identity of the victim? The ONLY difference is this wasn't man and woman...but was still a domestic incident...having said that....they should print ALL those charged, never mind the select few.
Mtsales 1/4/2014 10:29:45 AM Report

Is Ryan the guy you see on the bike with the pack sac in the west end all the time?
buddyjewel 1/4/2014 10:46:44 AM Report

I like reading the posts on here because I learn a hell of a lot more about the story than the actual sootoday article itself.
Thank you guys!
Yve2010 1/4/2014 12:10:49 PM Report

MTsales, i believe that may be him. Hes always on his bike with his backpack.
Yve2010 1/4/2014 12:11:25 PM Report

he usually wears a bandanna as a hat? longish black hair.
redford 1/4/2014 9:43:38 PM Report

And he "drinks like a fish" which plays a factor in this.

Right Eves...?

and I don't give a rats ass what you think either.
Wayne Lacroix 1/9/2014 9:06:34 AM Report

Rude, insensitive, ignorant. Those are my thoughts about some of the comments on this article. People are claiming to know the family very well but their statements do not attest to that fact. I would think that rather than making light of family medical history and unfounded and untrue suppositions are indicative of uninformed individuals. Wishes for Leo to have a speedy recovery and thoughts of wellbeing for all involved here would be much more appropriate. Oh, by the way, I have been Leos brother-in-law for the last 45 years and I post this under my real name. You people need to find some other type of lowlife entertainment other than commenting on sensitive issues such as this in a public forum!
