SUDBURY, ON - Members of the Sudbury OPP detachment responded to the collision which took place at approximately 5:00 PM today.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a car and pick up collided head on just west of the Highway 537 junction.

The male driver of the car was killed in the collision while the three occupants of the pick up were treated at Health Sciences North for minor injuries.

Highway #17 was closed for several hours while Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and a reconstructionist examined the scene.

The highway has since been re-opened to traffic, however motorists can expect intermittent delays for several hours as the investigation continues.

This is an absalute tragity. Who is to blame? Look no farther than the incompotent Ontario Government and the usless company they signed our roads over to for winter services! A shame people are dying on our roads due to incompotence!
