Let me see ... the accident occurred @ Boundary Rd and South Market and he was stopped near Dell Ave ...this idiot wasn't even going home to his Indiana address ... Bet he wished he had called a cab or drivers-seat now .... tooooooo late ..! Thanx for no injuries and this cop ..!
Sam C 1/1/2014 11:29:55 AM Report

TFinn... well, he was impaired. He could have just missed the right turn onto Bennett, or maybe -- after being involved in the collision -- he thought he'd take the long way home to avoid detection. Maybe he wasn't even heading home.

Whatever the case, I agree with you... hats off to the cop.

I was wondering, has anyone seen any r.i.d.e. programs these holidays? My hubby and I were out driving on Dec 24, 25, 26 in the evening visiting (sober, of course) as well as last night and not once saw police checking cars for drunk drivers. We drove on the main roads, just curious if they were out this year...

Too cold out to have Ride Programs. Even for overtime.

Some people have to learn things the hard way. Luckily the rest of us can learn from his mistakes.

When will people stop doing this! Even after tragedies like the drunk driver that killed that lovely girl Christa Lukenda Michaud.

JUST.STOP.IT. BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE HAS TO DIE FOR THE SELFISH CHOICE TO BOOZE AND CRUISE!
enough!

yes should have used abcab or Driverseat.I used Driverseat was great ,courteous service good conversation and guess what my car was in the driveway in the morning. Not in some parking lot possibly getting trashed or in some police impound yard. The car was mine the driver was clean cut will definitely use service again.
Was also out several times over the holidays and despite some peoples perception the police were everywhere. Last night on way home must have counted 6 different law enforcement vehicles and actually got stopped once on the way to celebration for a check.
As the commercial says "they r cracking down", u just do not see them ask those who have been charged. Nice New Years present

I was the other vehicle involved in this accident-
After we were hit at the intersection of boundary and southmarket he tried to keep driving! We were lucky that the off duty cop was there right time right place and helped us follow this man and catch him! This is why he passed his street-
Thank god no one was hurt- I had three kids in the backseat, one just a baby. We were on our way home from celebrating at a friends house and just around the corner from home. This stupidity seriously has to STOP. If you drink and your not thinking clearly, why do you drive??? This man if it hadn't been our fender bender could of seriously hurt or killed someone. I just don't get it.
Dave D.N.R. 1/2/2014 4:02:01 PM Report

This reminds me of back many, many years ago when a drunk SO and SO driver that hit my wife and ran from the car accident only to leave me with a baby child that I had to bring up alone without its mother.
In this case I thank God no one was killed and thank God the drunk driver was caught to face the charges. I only hope this drunk driver will be hit hard enough with a penalty to learn something from what he has done. I truly hope when this drunk driver sobers up that he will see how easy this could have turned out in taking a life. There is not just the life or two or however many it could have been, but the damage the drunk driver could have done to so many other members of the family.
This is just a few words Id like to share with the drunk driver in this case or even to anyone else out there that might be thinking of getting behind the steering wheel after having a few too many drinks.
