iSpy: Five must-see New Year's Eve movies

As party plans are in full swing and many prepare to toast the New Year with a bang, we at SooToday.com know there are some who may prefer to snuggle with a loved one for a quiet evening at home tonight.

If the warm glow of your television screen is more your speed, here are five suggestions for movie viewing all with a New Year's Eve edge.

The Apartment

Directed by Billy Wilder, this 1960 comedy starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine won five Academy Awards including Best Picture.

What are you people talking about?

Okay, the Poseiden Adventure is more than a bit hokey, although in its day the special effects were amazing.

The other movies are classics, and are terrific movies.
