Haha, my son and I were changing at the John Rhodes when it went out. Total dark for a min or so till the generator kicked in.

I can't wait to find out what hit what this time. Birds? Squirrels? A drunk driver? The Wallendas?

What kind of "foreign interference" could it possibly be? I recall in the summer every outage was blamed on birds hitting the wires. What now...night owls hitting the wires?
ShawnM 12/28/2013 10:31:29 PM Report

Kind of explains why I was seeing a voltage drop around that time. Was seeing less than 114V setting off my battery backups.
ThinkAgain 12/28/2013 11:00:51 PM Report

My power is out so many times in a week, I stopped resetting the microwave and stove.

I'm glad our local power is cheap or I would complain, lol

"Foreign object contacting high voltage conductors".
There not even being creative anymore, oh wait somebody threw a snowball - at least stopped blaming birds or squirrels.

When the power came back on it destroyed my router...bah humbug.
steelworker 12/29/2013 2:43:01 AM Report

Shut up and pay lemmings. lol-your friendly PUC.

Was my fault! I threw a snowball--sorry folks!
Sam C 12/29/2013 9:56:48 AM Report

Most likely it was a tree branch. The snow has been clinging to the trees for the past week, and yesterday's warmer weather would result in the snow melting, and getting heavier.

Ya but every time there is a power outage anywhere in the city you can rest assured the power goes out in this area also. I look out the window and two doors down the lights are on every time. foreign interference my butt. The power could be out on landslide road and still involve this area of queen.
damzull1 12/29/2013 11:42:23 AM Report

They have to stop installing after market parts they dont last or at least hook them up right
engineguy 12/29/2013 11:55:12 AM Report

Hey you jerks at PUC, maybe you can look at passing out candles to every household in the Soo They are cheap and you could buy them at the dollar store,at least we would have some light when your lame excuses about what causes power outages. The fire department gives batteries and smoke detectors out for free if needed, jump on the bus and less rage would be coming your way, until then you are Idiots.
macgyvr 12/29/2013 1:51:23 PM Report

This was due freezing rain. They had to shake the lines of ice. Besides the puc had no headlines for a week. Two minutes of work and fifty nine to figure it out. NOW BACK TO THE BROWN WATER ISSUE!
