Christmas light cruising? Here`s the must-see drive-by list

The City of Sault Ste. Marie Christmas Lighting Awards Committee has selected the winners of the 14th Annual Christmas Lighting Awards Program.

This program, co-sponsored by PUC Services Inc., was created to recognize the efforts of local residents and businesses that light up their homes and properties during the holiday season.

Award plaques will be presented to the winners at the January 6, 2014 City Council meeting.

Residential and business properties that have won in the past three years (2010-2012) are not eligible to win in 2013.

Congratulations to the following winners:

Residential Awards

Ward 1
Brush Residence – 760 Frontenac Street
Nebesniuk Residence – 36 Joel Court

Ward 2
Cristello Residence – 60 Crawford Avenue
Proulx Residence – 30 Ontario Street

Ward 3

Vanderloo Residence – 1361 Third Line East

Ward 4
Mellea Residence – 702 Wilson Street
Swanson Residence – 377 North Street

Business Category

The business category award was won by the Weed Man located at 98 Northern Avenue East.

Note: 2012 Residential winner, the Petingalos at 531 Shannon Road, have adopted a cancer awareness theme for this season’s display that includes a 15 foot purple and pink lit tree in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Purple Light campaign and breast cancer.

Their Christmas lights will be on daily from 6-11 p.m. - drive by!

Thank you Simpson St. Had so much enjoyment stopping at your home for a preseason viewing session with two of my children on separate occasions. One still to go. That's why there are 12 days of Christmas! Merry Christmas.
