STATEMENT

ENVIRONMENT CANADA

***************************
Significant snowfall expected today.

An intensifying low pressure system originating from Texas is forecast to bring snow across the Nickel Belt and Nipissing areas today.

Snow will begin across the region early this morning and become heavy at times. Snowfall amounts close to 15 cm are expected by the time it begins to taper off to some light snow this evening.

In addition, northeast winds of 30 km/h with some gusts to 60 are expected, especially in open areas.

Visibilities will be reduced in blowing snow as a result.

Motorists should exercise caution and adjust travel plans accordingly.

AuntJ,

The story was updated since these stupid comments about Ranger Lake... Sootoday updated the story and therefore excluded Ranger Lake from their original story.

Morris,

We're not changing 'feet' ok... You can say shoes maybe for some of these guys..

You guys are thinking of Elliot Lake! Lol Ranger Lake is South-by South West.
Its where the Kitchener Rangers have out-door practice. Lol

To iambic, the high school drop out!
"Me,and the boys "?????????

How would you phrase it....if it was just YOU,
Who went to " danger lake" to get drunk?

I don't think you'd say "Me,went up to danger lake"

Go back to school....learn something for a change! A-hole!

Sam C 12/22/2013 2:34:51 PM Report

Regardless of the change to the story, while it seems as though you have to travel north to get to Ranger Lake, geographically it does lie well EAST of the Sault. It is, in fact due north of Thessalon.

I ran into heavy snow and wind gusts this morning as I was heading eastbound crossing the Garden River and continuing to Thessalon. The return trip was in conditions that had further deteriorated -- although I noticed several drivers that seemed undeterred by the hazards of winter driving.
