Should the owners of this dog be prohibited from owning animals?

Friday, December 13, 2013   by: SooToday.com Staff

Sootoday.com has received the following letter from loyal reader and animal rights advocate Talia Rochon. In response to the recent sentencing of Karma owners, she raises concerns about penalties for animal abusers.

************************
My name is Talia Rochon.

Today I was happy to find out that Karma has made an amazing recovery, she is doing well and is in a loving home.

Today I was also shocked to see that the person(s) responsible where only given five years prohibition from owning animals.

As an animal lover myself, I feel the laws need to be changed to a life time ban.

We must speak for those who cannot speak, we must fight for what we believe is right.

The power of petition and words can be astounding, it can save an animals life and it can change the law.

I believe any person(s) responsible for starving, or any other intentional animal abuse should never be allowed to own another animal ever again.

I call to action that we citizens of Sault Ste Marie, fight for what's right, and bring justice to those who cannot speak.

We must not allow previously charged animal abusers to ever have another chance to harm another animal ever again.

I have started a petition here: https://www.change.org/petitions/sault-ste-marie-court-house-we-as-residents-of-sault-ste-marie-call-to-action-that-both-parties-guilty-as-charged-should-never-own-an-animal-ever-again-5-years-is-simply-not-enough-let-us-speak-for-those-who-cannotthank-you

I will print the petition once we have enough signatures and I will bring it everyday to courthouse to get justice not only for Karma, but for any other animal who has ever been in this position, or for any other potential animal that gets adopted, bought, or finds their way into peoples arms that have wronged another animal before.

So I ask that we can take action, and help change these laws, and help the animals that rely and need us for their safety and love.

So that they may continue to have homes with loving families and enjoy the life of being a pet.

Thank you,

Talia Rochon

OK Calm Down. Your going to bring it everyday to the court house? their going to arrest you for harassment.
old-cat33 12/13/2013 4:20:12 PM Report

Talia: Sure I would support your cause!!
Koolaid 12/13/2013 4:22:20 PM Report

I think these people learned their lesson. They were Completely embarrassed by this public spectacle, and now cannot own an animal for 5 years.
Hatch 12/13/2013 4:35:04 PM Report

I don't see this ruling creating any form of hardship for these people. By the looks of their dog, I don't see how the courts decision has taken away anything of any value to them.
giddyup 12/13/2013 4:35:40 PM Report

Whatever was done to the dog should be done to the "owners"!!!
coronasoo 12/13/2013 4:35:49 PM Report

LOL learned their lesson and are embarrassed? Please!! They shouldn't have kids either..Put them in a shack to starve and freeze!! Karma will come their way someday. Considering who they are..I'm not at all surprised they did this to an animal..
pony 12/13/2013 4:36:16 PM Report

That conclusion was ridiculous! Those people shouldn't be able to have another pet. That is sickening!
pony 12/13/2013 4:37:31 PM Report

I also agree that hopefully they don't have children!!!
DutchTouch 12/13/2013 4:43:53 PM Report

I can't believe that anyone who says they have an animal's best interest at heart could allow any animal in their control to be allowed to become so emaciated.
What the hell is wrong with these people? I'd hate to leave a child with them. It hurts to learn of these situations. The animals have no way of defending themselves.
What a rotten world we have both for unfortunate animals and humans.
D.Hasselhoff 12/13/2013 4:47:08 PM Report

@Koolaid, unfortunately about 300 ppl in the last hour disagree with you. I signed, and if I could again I would. Heck of a job getting this going and hats off to sootoday for seeing the importance in this petition. Be proud to all thats involved that we have stood up to those pieces of trash who deserve a hell of a lot more than 5 years probation and thank you for letting me a part of it.
Alystr 12/13/2013 4:52:46 PM Report

The truth about this dog has never made it to sootoday. This dog was poisoned by someone, not owners. They thought it was going to die and had no money to put it down so they left it at the Humane Society.
nanci 12/13/2013 4:54:57 PM Report

Koolaid??? Really, they were embarrassed? The photo of this dog speaks volumes! This was not a one time cruelty issue, this took place over a long period of time. The dog was a barely breathing skeleton. I'd say anyone that does this deserves a much greater punishment than simple embarrassment? What message is sent? In my good sense its as good as a pass. Embarrassed indeed. Shame all around is more like it and then add a deterrent for future abusers with stiff sentences and a pocket book fleecing. Who's to pay all the vet bills, the wonderful care by so many? A strong message needs to be sent. THe act itself is not acceptable nor is the sentence, period.
Maddie7891 12/13/2013 4:55:55 PM Report

DISGUSTING! These ppl should NEVER be allowed to own another pet in their life. I hope they continue to be embarrassed and learned they're lesson?! YEAH RIGHT! No human being in their right mind with half a heart should let this happen AND it didn't happen overnight! If the dog was "poisoned" why wasn't she brought to a VET?! I hope Karma bites you in the rear.
OrganicGuy 12/13/2013 5:00:07 PM Report

Alystr I hope you have all the facts on this poor animal. If true as you state I hope the persons responsible will be held to account.

sometimes people should just shut up and mind their business.
nanci 12/13/2013 5:39:12 PM Report

Alystr? The plea that was entered by the accused was "GUILTY". Guilty of cruelty to this anmimal. There were no extenuating circumstances brought forward. Guilty.
Alystr 12/13/2013 5:51:36 PM Report

They took a lesser charge because they could never prove who poisoned the animal.
Alystr 12/13/2013 5:54:58 PM Report

Oh and since they were nailed to the cross right from the beginning, they had no chance to plead not guilty lol.. I know one of them and had to ask what the real story was..
GrandmaTina 12/13/2013 6:13:37 PM Report

If this furbaby was poisoned then why were the owners charged? This is crazy just because someone pleads guilty does not mean they are guilty....... not everyone has the guts to fight them. Then again the picture does look horrible. I truly believe that all info should be known when writing a story about someone. The ospca does NOT mention everything only what can generate more donations and thats all! Please everyone give your head a shake and do NOT believe everything from the ospca they lie and leave things out. Yes at times they do a good job and at times they dont so do your homework first before bashing anyone.
Inspire 12/13/2013 6:25:23 PM Report

There's a really neat concept with Animal ownership...

If you can't afford it, don't get it!

Poisened Pet, needs Veterinary care... Pretty sure that comes under providing the "necessities of life", ranks right up there with Food!

{scott} 12/13/2013 6:28:12 PM Report

Don't worry Tina, I'm sure you'll get your say at your court date.
There is a high number of animal abusers in our area and across the country who need to be held accountable for their actions. It is sad that these abusers tend to play the victim when they have done something wrong. If people cannot afford to feed an animal, find someone who can. It is the animals that trust and end up being the victims who suffer but because they have no voice, they are rarely heard. I have signed the petition!
GrandmaTina 12/13/2013 6:29:16 PM Report

Your right it is necessary to get vet care when needed but remember the ospca states "The Ontario SPCA reminds pet owners that if you have concerns for the welfare of your animal there are alternatives other than allowing an animal to go without adequate care. Contact your local Ontario SPCA to discuss our available services" She brought the dog there and what happens she gets charged! Many many times this has happened and people wonder why others get scared to bring them there!
GrandmaTina 12/13/2013 6:32:15 PM Report

Oh scott your funny, and yes your right the do need food ect ect and you are right if you cant take care of the animal then yes give it to someone who can I completely agree with that. What I am saying is we all should know the entire truth before bashing anyone.
asp 12/13/2013 6:39:05 PM Report

I support your cause, I wish we can do the same to the owner and wish I knew who they were! They are a--holes.
martinfanm 12/13/2013 6:52:31 PM Report

Some people never have a chance to own a dog , I have wanted a dog all my life 36 years old know, I can't believe someone had the chance to be loved by a harmless compassiate friend and this is what they get... They should be ashamed I have no children when I do get a dog, that will be my child I would never ever consider any kind of cruelty. "if" they were poisioned surely they would have been smart enough to ask for help or bring them in sooner for help. And if she is healthy now? Something doesnt sit well with me on that theory!!
Shortz 12/13/2013 6:56:06 PM Report

Yes, they brought the dog there, BUT... I repeat... BUT...

They didn't bring it there until it had withered away to almost nothing from malnutrition, and they dropped it off in the after hours deposit anonymously. No information was left about Karma, no name, no details, NOTHING So, not only was the poor thing not cared for, it was also abandoned at the shelter anonymously. It's not like they brought Karma there during business hours when Karma was in early stages of starvation, and pleading for assistance because they couldn't afford veterinary care for a poisoned animal. Also, if Karma was actually poisoned, why wasn't a poisoning issue detected upon the Humane Society having the animal treated by a veterinarian?
GrandmaTina 12/13/2013 7:03:33 PM Report

Shortz you said not likely brought there and your stating it was dropped of after hours...... Im not gonna argue with anyone on this NOW ALL I WAS SAYING IS THAT THE OSPCA DOES NOT REVEAL EVERYTHING ONLY WHAT WILL GENERATE MORE DONATIONS!ALSO MAYBE THE OWNERS SIDE SHOULD BE WRITTEN ALSO.... THIS IS A ONE SIDED ARTICLE AS ALWAYS WITH THE NEWS!
Alystr 12/13/2013 7:06:57 PM Report

Oh and I just also heard all charges were dropped on this case. Are we getting false news here? Can someone direct us to the 5 years probation thing?

It would be nice to see a picture of what the dog looks like now???
dadal 12/13/2013 7:11:10 PM Report

Nice try on the poison defense but it doesn't hold water. That level of malnutrition didn't happen overnight. And poison would have killed that poor baby, not made it waste away as it was. If my dog was poisoned and I didn't have money, I would go to the shelter and beg for help. Or contact the Animal Assistance. There are ways. No those people purposely neglected the dog. You don't drop off a half dead dog at a shelter. Or for that matter watch your beloved pet slowly die. Waaaa poor embarrassed people that were caught! It should be a lifetime ban-it's been done before. And yes I also signed.
Christina216 12/13/2013 7:28:05 PM Report

the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society page on facebook has an updated picture of Karma on it with a note saying Ronnie-lynn Pprich plead guilty to animal neglect or abuse...sentenced to 5 years probation not to own an animal

Alystr you are misinformed..
GrandmaTina 12/13/2013 7:29:44 PM Report

alystr Is there some way I could speak to you privately ? I also checked the ospca web site and there is nothing about the conviction on there so this is making me wonder what is really going on..... Is this a true story?
arizonagryphon3 12/13/2013 7:40:52 PM Report

The "owners" thought the dog was poisoned?? Why wouldn't they report such things to the police or the humane society? Ridiculous. They abused this dog by not providing the necessities of life. A dog doesn't look like this overnight. Poison would have an immediate effect. The fact people are defending these idiots is incomprehendable. Disgusting is the nicest word I can think of to define these people and their defenders.

Alystr!

First of all, I wouldn't be to quick to brag about "knowing" these people. Second, if you really want to stick with the poison-ploy, you should do some research...poison doesn't linger in a system, it kills quickly. Not to mention the vet that looked after Karma must have done some blood work on the dog to test for this! Stop lying and covering for people who don't deserve any compassion. The judgement was way too lenient and they can be glad it wasn't be sitting on the bench!!

redgypsy 12/13/2013 8:12:20 PM Report

this story made my heart hurt for this beautiful dog
as a animal lover myself
i find it extremely disgusting that one would treat an animal this way
embarrassment and shame is a very light punishment specially if they are the type of people who do not care
regardless if the dog was poisoned by someone to become as emaciated as she is would take time that they obviously let it take
had they showed the love for the dog which to most families with them become like a family member more so than an animal
they would have tried something sooner in a proper response time to something being amiss with Karma they would not have allowed her to become as she had
no one with a 1/2 a brain ,common sense and LOVE in their heart for Karma would have allowed for to become as deathly looking as she does in the picture

you say the dog was poison but no one knows by whom right

its easy enough to narrow down the suspects
by asking a few simple questions

is it an out door dog ?
do you have a fenced yard ?
any issues with any neighbors, friends or enemies that would be so low as to poison an animal to get to you or that just did not like the dog ?
do you allow for her to run around the area in which you live
and if not to any of the above n she is near you or someone known to you at all times then the circle of suspects would become even smaller
i mean did they even try to figure out who it could be ?

i am sorry for my rant i am just extremely upset that anyone could do harm to any living being at all
really irks me to my boiling point and i agree they never be allowed another animal period why give another opportunity for something to befall another being and maybe if the laws were as such we as people would put more thought into adding another being to our family as it is a commitment that is very similar to that of a child they need love care and loyalty back from us ion return for the love ,loyalty companionship they give us

anyhoo i am done thank you all for allowing my reant i am sure some will disagree with my opinion buyt that is the beauty of an opinion we all have one and not all are the same

thank you SooToday for allowing me to express mine

Talia Rochon
my whole family will be signing your petition and i will also share with my friends i am sincerely hoping you get what you need to help a change along
thank you

I am glad she is doing better. I do not know all the facts about what happened, if she was poisoned, they shouldn't have let her go as long as they did.....it's so sad to see such a beautiful dog in such pain.....I don't think these people should ever own another animal ever to be honest. whether they poisoned her, or someone else did, they still did not take her in to be checked. If they really wanted to they could have easily contacted either sault today, or the sault star or made a facebook page asking for vet bill donations, as well as information on who poisoned her....I wouldn't have just left her at the drop off box....that is cruel....in her state she was lucky to survive :( I wish people would think when it comes to their animals.....

In quotes....Staff at the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society are not having a pleasant start to the weekend.

This obviously frightened and under-nourished canine was found in the shelter's after hours drop-off cage this morning with no information, not even her name...end quote.

So Karma WAS dropped off, after hours, left alone for someone to find her in the morning, in the condition she was, with no information!

Oh Yes!!! They loved her!!!! ..........................Oh Wait!.. for those that dont understand sarcasm, this sentence is it!!!!
friday 12/13/2013 10:28:43 PM Report

And one last question for all those that support the, quote, loving owners of Karma that did no wrong. How much money did they make selling her puppies while they let her suffer?
northernmale 12/13/2013 10:30:31 PM Report

I have to agree with a lot of the comments on here. But can someone tell me how some of the vets in this town are any better. Many an animal have died because the vets here would not look at the animal because they have been taken across the river, or have never been to there clinic before. And these are people who are suppose to love animals and care for them.Maybe a few of them should be charged.
Christina216 12/13/2013 10:45:28 PM Report

Who cares what was found in her stomach. When they first started to notice the dogs entire rib cage was showing (probably sooner) that should have been the time to get her help. Not wait till the puppies were weaned. Ya there might have been dog food in the house..probably for the puppies. Besides what the hell are they doing letting a 9 year old dog get pregnant? In my opinion she should be banned for life from owning an animal and she should have to pay the vet bill.
friday 12/13/2013 10:50:51 PM Report

To northernmale

Can I respectably ask of you, or anyone else that has had to deal with the same situation, to leave this aspect of animal care in our city, away from the topic of Karma.

It does need to be addressed but I dont think we are dealing with something similar in this situation. But it is an issue, close to a lot of animal lovers, that does need to be addressed.
jagen 12/13/2013 10:51:31 PM Report

If they weren't guilty then why enter a guilty plea? Regardless of anything offered, I don't know anyone...at all.. who, if they were truly, honestly innocent, that wouldn't fight tooth and nail against it.
There had to be enough proof to go ahead on the charges. Enough proof that they, the accused, felt they had no choice but to go with the guilty plea. If there were any doubts as to the evidence then they would have fought it.
For those who say that they accepted a guilty plea to protect themselves I say...from what? Further prosecution?
friday 12/13/2013 11:06:11 PM Report

This particular case was not an OSPCA investigation it was city police who charged the owners. Why then would you expect the OSPCA to put out a press release? Why would anyone in their right mind expect any law enforcement agency to release BOTH sides of the story? That makes absolutely no sense! Online activity would be far less annoying to those of us with brain function if idiots did not have internet access.

I'm glad this animal and any other, have been rescued and now have a chance at a happy life, but just how do you intend to keep track of anybody prohibited in this way. The humane society might be able keep track of them for 5 years, but for LIFE? Hell, the police can't keep convicted DUI's off the roads, and they have to have a license also. Unless YOU are willing to set up and manage, for life, the registry of these people, I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
Boonski2 12/14/2013 2:21:10 AM Report

As much as I agree the laws should be changed, petitions do absolutely nothing. To put it bluntly:
"Here you go I signed a piece of paper to change the world!" - Us.
"Oh great! Toilet paper is so expensive these day!" - Them.
The only way to change laws these days (Or any time for that matter) is vigilante justice, taking the law into your hands (And shattering even more laws in doing so.). The world is fucked, so fucked up that it is un-fixable.
To be honest, if I ever met the scum that did this to their dog... I'd be locked up for a LONG time. But you see that's the issue with the justice system, protects the evil and harms the good. Those of us who are both, well we're lost in the shuffle.

Alystr, poisoned? really? that is what you are going to comp to on this ordeal??? When you are poisoned you don't deteriorate to nothing overnight, let alone in an hour. "dropped her off at the vet because they didn't know what to do"!?!??! pull your head out of your ass, if you are actually friends with this person AND believe them, I am more than certain one would find you on the corner of Queen and Gore with "Breathe in THEN breath out" stapled to your forehead....

And Koolaid... "they are embarassed!?!?! EMBARASSED!?!? are you kidding me!? Tell you what... you come live with me, I am going to lock you in a basement and starve you for a couple years (let's be honest dog's life span to human's) all the while having you churn out kids because why the hell not. And then when someone catches me doing it I will say "Hey it's cool, I was wrong, but this is like SUPER embarassing"... If I wrote how everyone feels about you right now, my comment would be taken offline, hope that helps clear the air you insufferable moron....

No doubt you two knuckleheads are probably involved in this incident and trying to ease your own conscience... But even if you aren't I hope that even half of what happened to this dog happens to you. Feel free to stop wasting oxygen as quickly as possible... twits...
markbernard 12/14/2013 3:26:24 AM Report

Sorry... that was a little outspoken... what I meant to say was that you and the people involved are what is wrong with society, and the fact that I have to share air with you sickens me :)
Alystr 12/14/2013 4:46:21 AM Report

markbernard, you judge me because I said I know one of the people? You are a retard lol.. I went to school with one of them 30 years ago dipshit. This whole story is a messed up made up joke by the sounds of it. Personally I could care less, what happens. My animals get treated well and that is all that matters in my household..

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!

dadal 12/13/2013 7:11:10 PM Report

Nice try on the poison defense but it doesn't hold water. That level of malnutrition didn't happen overnight. And poison would have killed that poor baby, not made it waste away as it was. If my dog was poisoned and I didn't have money, I would go to the shelter and beg for help. Or contact the Animal Assistance. There are ways. No those people purposely neglected the dog. You don't drop off a half dead dog at a shelter. Or for that matter watch your beloved pet slowly die. Waaaa poor embarrassed people that were caught! It should be a lifetime ban-it's been done before. And yes I also signed.
vipersmum 12/14/2013 8:05:21 AM Report

thank you so much talia for starting this and keeping it in the public and working for change! if you need help, i will help you. i have been at the courthouse on both occasions, but i dont know what else to do. again, thank you for doing this.
frizz 12/14/2013 8:39:31 AM Report

I hope this story gets moved back to the top so it doesn't get buried. People need to continue to see it as it is a priority and it will allow the petition to continue to be signed. There are some ludicrous comments on here from people who did not follow the story when it first broke months ago. I wish the owners of Karma would bring her somewhere publically so we can meet this sweet girl. Kind of a Karma celebration! I signed the petition and donated to the Humane Society and I love our Great Dane beyond words. I only wish I could meet precious Karma.
greeneyeds 12/14/2013 8:50:03 AM Report

In theory I love the idea of the petition, however I see one problem. If they've already been to court, plead guilty and received their sentences, petitioning to get the sentences changed won't do anything. The courts can't suddenly add to their sentence. Perhaps the petition should be more general and call for stricter penalties for animal neglect and abuse charges. I applaud you for standing up and doing something for a cause you believe in.
C.N.R 12/14/2013 9:08:07 AM Report

I can say that I have first hand knowledge that Karma is doing well now. She has a great home and kind and caring new owners. I have seen her a few times throughout the summer and is now at a great weight, has spunk & no fear in her eyes anymore...
She is loved and more importantly, able to once again return love to her "new parents".
Thank you for starting this petition....if there were more people who stood up and did what was RIGHT then there would hopefully be less abuse!
greeneyeds 12/14/2013 9:16:25 AM Report

I just saw on the Sault Star site that they dropped the charges against the "man" involved. I don't get that at all. So if something happens that these two break up and he's not living with her...he can have a dog. They also have a really good picture of Karma on the front page of their site. She's a beauty.
Newt4u 12/14/2013 10:02:28 AM Report

Well I don't know these people at all. What I do know is I live in the same area as them and yes there were other dogs that where poisoned around the same time. That is fact, because the police where called and it was reported. The vet also confirmed the dog he treated was poisoned. I'm not saying how they handled their dog was right, all I'm saying is there is some truth in their story.
newspot 12/14/2013 10:03:30 AM Report

I think that people that can't look after a animal should give it up or
give it someone who will. I think this is very disgusting to let a poor defenseless animal to go through this. My motto is that these animals are here on earth for a short time and should be
treated and spoiled to enjoy each day they live. For all the joy they give us,and all they want in return is love.
Is that too much to ask for? I had dogs all my life and it's atrocious to think that someone would do this to their pet.I would certainly sign the petition that is going around.
scottstewy123 12/14/2013 10:14:34 AM Report

I have 2 dogs myself. This is utterly shameful. I really feel for this poor dog.My 2 dogs give the wife and I so much joy and love back to us. Heck these 2 pooches are FAMILY.
Yve2010 12/14/2013 10:35:06 AM Report

These people are LOSERS. You can make all the excuses in the world and nothing will change the fact they are in the wrong, they neglected their pet and should never own another in their entire life. Maybe metal was fount in her stomach, but she looked to be starving so who knows what she tried to eat cause she was so damn hungry. The whole BS about not being able to buy dog food, they sell bags of Old roy for 2.48 at Walmart. So thats not a excuse at all. Karma will come back to bite them in the ass someday pun and non pun intended :)
Koolaid 12/14/2013 12:46:56 PM Report

They could of let the dog die, and just bury the dog in the back yard, and all you clowns wouldn't of even known what happened. They cared enough to bring the dog to the humane society for help. Now quit being a lynch mob and relax !!!
markbernard 12/14/2013 1:41:50 PM Report

Alystr, you sit there at the beginning of the discussion talking about how everything was trumped up and they did what they did because they care. Making up some ridiculous poisoning story for a dog that was obviously malnourished and overbred... Then you talk about how the accused were being put on the cross and forced to plead guilty (such a tragic course of events). NOW you are saying you barely know the one person, and you went to school with them 30 years ago...

You can't contradict yourself when the only thing that is required to discredit your comments is scrolling up to your previous comments...

As for calling me a retard, a "keyboard warrior" and a douchebag, all after mentioning that you are at least 35+ it makes me think your age and your IQ are somewhere within 10 points of each other... Keyboard warrior? I am not the one hiding behind an alias chuckles... Also if you are going to try to insult someone, at least have the decency to come up with your own insults. It's like dealing with children here ffs...
SmAsHed 12/14/2013 1:59:14 PM Report

So they are 'embarrassed' and innocent, but there is a picture of what I would imagine is one of Karma's puppies on the accuseds' Facebook page and the caption is from the male involved: "bye bye puppy your next ahhaha". This was from March 15th, which lines up with when Karma was abandoned at the Humane Society.

I don't know the people involved, but that is up there for public viewing. Just took a quick search, and it seems awfully suspicious. Doesn't seem like a comment from someone who is embarrassed, does it?

So yes, I have signed the petition and I do fully agree that they should never be allowed to have pets again. No matter what the so called story is regarding poisoning or what have you, that comment has forever sealed my opinion, and I am disgusted.
markbernard 12/14/2013 2:51:52 PM Report

can you like comments on here? I want to like Smashed's comment
suddenrushsarge 12/14/2013 3:30:13 PM Report

Mark Bernard, you are my personal hero. These people should not be allowed to EVER own animals again. Not even a friggin pet frog. Having a pet isn't a right, it's a privilege you maintain by taking proper care of them.
markbernard 12/14/2013 6:26:38 PM Report

Thanks Sarge! What others are saying is true, this petition will not likely be able to change the outcome of past decisions, but hopefully it makes things worse for future offenders... I still say these two idiots should have to have "KARMA'S OWNERS" signs plastered to their backs whenever they leave the house. That would be nice to see. And if what that other guy said about the picture on facebook of the puppy and the caption saying "You're next" is actually true, then I hope to hell someone comes along and beats the convicted party's head in. Doing something that reprehensible is one thing, forgoing regret and jumping right into making a joke of it makes you a waste of skin.
BRIT 12/14/2013 6:41:39 PM Report

The dog is now safe, the Humane Society did their job and we should just leave this alone. The punishment was handed out and likely will be overseen. Anyone who cannot afford a vet should not have a pet. If you disagree with this statement, put your money where your mouth is and donate $100 to the Humane Society or TAAG. It will take care of the many unwanted animals there now and after Christmas. You want to bitch at me, do it because I'm ready to listen to INTELLIGENT people.
SmAsHed 12/14/2013 9:47:14 PM Report

@MarkBernard

The photo and caption is 100% true. I took a screenshot on my phone in case someone takes it down, just so I couldn't be accused of lying...lol

A picture is worth 1000 words they say!

Some people are just too sick for words....
Working Man 12/15/2013 2:50:23 PM Report

If this was a human being??

C'mon people. The majority of human beings look like crap! That is proof to me that most parents don't feed their children properly!

If you can't afford good food for a child, then DONT HAVE SEX!! FOR LIFE!!!! Everybody knows that a child costs 100grand to raise into adulthood. Can't afford it? Then don't have sex period. End of story.

Common sense would tell you that if this pet's owners dropped him off during the day they would get arrested anyway from idiotic people who speculate and assume what they don't know.

Maybe it was poisoned. You can get sick for a couple of months, which is all it would take for a dog to get like that anyway. Not all 'poisons' kill you instantly.

Maybe it has an eating disorder! There exists humans that are anorexic and look just like that. Their parents should die then! Well, that's the theory that most of you morons come up with.
