Snow squall warning for Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island upgraded from snow squall watch

Snow squall warning continued for Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay - Agawa - Lake Superior Park

Snow squalls tonight.

Cold westerly winds over Lake Superior are generating flurries and local snow squalls.

The strongest snow squalls are affecting regions from Batchawana Bay to south of Wawa and are shifting slowly south towards Sault Ste Marie.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm per 12 hours are expected under the heaviest bands.

In addition, low to nil visibilities in snow and blowing snow will make for hazardous driving conditions.
