NEWS RELEASE

LAKE SUPERIOR MAGAZINE

**************************
A breathtaking image of a storm near Pancake Bay Provincial Park and a look at what was on a hotel Christmas menu 100 years ago in what is today’s Thunder Bay are just two items from the Ontario shores that readers will find in the December/January issue of Lake Superior Magazine, available now.

A spectacular photo of Sawpit Bay by Sault Ste. Marie’s Terry Wurdemann was chosen as the issue’s By The Shores, a special two-page display of a shoreline photo featured in each issue.

The menu for the former Queen’s Hotel and some 1912 toy advertisements in The Chronicle are just two of the fun historic items discovered for the story Spirits of Christmases Past that looks at what life beside the Big Lake may have been like a century or so ago.

For those looking for fun and frolic during the holidays, the magazine features a story about the Santa Shuffle in Thunder Bay and a wrap-up of Ontario shore events.

In its focus on other Lake Superior shores, the issue of Lake Superior Magazine offers a recipe box with Scandinavian holiday treats.

What’s the Sammy’s Story reveals the regional pizza dynasty that now stretches across three states.

It is the lead story in The Guide, which also features restaurant and lodging lists, tips for lodging deals and a look at what’s on stage at lake-region universities.

The December/January issue of Lake Superior Magazine can be found at newsstands around the region or order it online at www.LakeSuperior.com.
