Wicked winter weather continues in Sault area (11:20 a.m. update)

Snow squall warning continued for Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay - Agawa - Lake Superior Park

Snow squalls weakening this afternoon.

A cold westerly flow off Lake Superior continues to generate snow squalls across the region.

An additional 5 centimetres are possible locally.

The snow squalls are expected to taper off this afternoon.

Travellers should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions in accumulating snow along with sudden near zero visibility in bursts of heavy snow and local blowing snow.

They may have missed the spot as far as snow in town, a short drive north shows just how close that possibility was! Its hard to pinpoint lake effect snow, all depends on the wind!

They were not wrong on this forecast - it is NOT for Sault Ste. Marie, only for areas NORTH of us. They are snowed in from searchmont all the way to Wawa.
