Queen’s Park
Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath made the following statement:
On this National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women New Democrats honour the memory of 14 innocent women whose lives were cut short twenty-four years ago at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal.
With our fellow Ontarians, and with Canadians across the country, we remember their names: Geneviève Bergeron, Hélène Colgan, Nathalie Croteau, Barbara Daigneault, Anne-Marie Edward, Maud Haviernick, Maryse Laganière, Maryse Leclair, Anne-Marie Lemay, Sonia Pelletier, Michèle Richard, Annie St-Arneault,  Annie Turcotte, Barbara Klucznik Widajewicz.
We must strive together to stop every kind of violence against women.
We must work together to build a fairer world in which women of all ages and backgrounds are afforded equal opportunity.
