Friday, December 06, 2013   by: Staff

Snow squall warning for Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay - Agawa - Lake Superior Park
Snow squall warning changed from snow squall watch for Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island,

Snow squalls continue tonight and Saturday.

Westerly flow off Lake Superior continues to generate snow squalls over Superior East.

Tonight the winds are expected to become more northwesterly causing the squalls to shift southwards and also affect northern portions of the Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island region.

On Saturday, the squalls are expected to shift north again as the winds go back to westerly.

Local accumulations of 10 to 15 cm per 12 hours will be possible under the squalls tonight and Saturday.

The snow squalls are expected to begin tapering off on Sunday.

Travellers should be prepared for poor driving conditions in accumulating snow along with sudden reductions to visibility in snow and blowing snow.
