Appointment of John Solski as Chief Federal Prosecutor (CFP) - Nunavut

We are pleased to announce that John Solski has been appointed Chief Federal Prosecutor in the Nunavut Regional Office.

John had been acting as Chief Federal Prosecutor in the Nunavut Regional Office since October 15, 2013.

John began his career in Sault Ste. Marie.

From 1985 to 2001, he worked in private practice and handled many criminal cases.

In 2001, John joined the Nunavut Regional Office of the Federal Prosecution Service at Justice Canada as legal counsel.

He primarily handled Criminal Code offences and drug prosecutions.

In August 2007, John became Deputy Regional Director of the PPSC in Iqaluit.

While John has spent much of his career working in the North, his roots are in Ontario.

He studied law at the University of Windsor; he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985 and the Nunavut Bar in 2001.

John completed his undergraduate degree at Laurentian University in Sudbury, majoring in Political Science and Anthro- pology.
