Over the years, the Symphony developed into the finest orchestra in the country and it holds the position of principal musical ambassador all regions of Mexico and Mexico's busiest touring ensemble.
In the last ten years the OSEM orchestra has performed in Europe three times, undertaken a two month, 49 concert tour of the United States, and toured in China twice.
In addition to his leadership of OSEM he has guest conducted about 500 orchestras and was for many years a principal guest conductor of England's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Of the 145 recordings Maestro Batiz has made, 41 were done with the Royal Philharmonic and 58 with the State Symphony of Mexico.
