Saturday Art Making for children and youth ages 3 and up at the Art gallery of Algoma from 10 a.m. until noon. Children are instructed in drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media by local artists and art educators who bring their talent and experience to each class. Please call 705-949-9067 for details.
The Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie hosts The Evil Within Haunted Boat aboard the Norgoma from noon until 3 p.m. and again from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $2.
The Swamp Cats play a matinee at the Breakaway Bar and Grill, 68 Dennis Street, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Cross Road hosts and afternoon gig at the Nicolet Tavern, 304 Albert st. West, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The annual Soo Zombie Walk begins at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre with games, live music and vendors at 1 p.m. The walk begins at 6 p.m. and concludes at the Bondar Pavilion with the closing ceremonies at 7:30 p.m.
The Over the Rainbow Children's Entertainment Series kicks off this season with Kaha:wi Dance Theatre's Medicine Bear at the Grand Theatre at 2 p.m. Fore more information, visit www.otr-arts.com
Soo Greyhounds vs Kingston at the Essar Centre. Game time is 7:07 p.m.
The Marcoux Brothers present a Halloween Costume Ball on October 26 at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and include live entertainment, pizza and snacks, and prize give-aways. All proceeds from this event go to support Mac and BJ's trip to the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Techniques for Teens at the Art Gallery of Algoma from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. is designed for those aged 12 and older. They will explore mediums, materials and the creative process; discuss and experiment with a variety of drawing, painting, printmaking or sculptural mediums; and learn traditional methods and encouraged to explore their own ideas in art making.
