Sault Ste. Marie OPP continue investigation into fatality

GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON - Highway 17B is now open to traffic.

Sault Ste. Marie OPP continue their investigation into a fatality on Highway 17B approximately 500 metres west of Bell’s Point Road.

The body of a deceased male had been discovered by a passing motorist at 5:16 a.m. this morning.

OPP urge any person with information regarding this investigation or may have been traveling the area at that time, to contact the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment immediately at 1-888-310-1122, or their nearest police authority.

Sault Ste. Marie OPP require public’s assistance

GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION, ON - At approximately 5:16 a.m. this morning Sault Ste. Marie OPP were called to the scene of a fatality on Highway 17B approximately 500 metres west of Bell’s Point. 

The body of a deceased male was located lying in the eastbound lane of Highway 17B.

The body had been discovered by a passing motorist.

Highway 17B is currently closed from Bell’s Point west to the intersection of Highway 17 and 17B.

Motorists are advised to use Highway 17 as an alternative route to 17B.

OPP urge any person with information regarding this investigation or may have been traveling the area at that time, to contact the Sault Ste. Marie OPP Detachment immediately at 1-888-310-1122, or their nearest police authority.
