About Warren Peterson

Landscape painting is my muse. Always has been.

Ever since I first went camping as a very young boy with my parents and brothers I have felt a deep connection to “the land” and our natural world.

Graduating with honours in commercial art and graphic design from college led me to a successful career as an artist and later as a marketing and advertising manager for a number of large companies.

Today I am doing what I have always wanted to do - work as a professional artist!

I have been painting Canada’s natural spaces and wild places for over 45 years now and every painting is an adventure, a discovery of sorts.

I paint realistically so I can learn about the subject and try to convey that emotional moment when the scene first presents itself as a possible painting.

I work in acrylics, water colour, graphite and charcoal.

Collectors of my work tell me that they can feel the time, place and the tranquility of the scene and they tell me that my landscapes remind them of special times out in nature.

My work is in private collections throughout Ontario and Eastern Canada.

I have shown at the Art Gallery of Algoma, Art at the Docks, Sylvan Art Circle, the Bushplane Heritage Centre and many group shows with the Algoma Art Society.

Check out my blog and Facebook page for upcoming show dates and recent works.

I sell direct, conduct workshops, give painting landscape lessons and will consider commissions.
