Humane Society annual Cause for Paws fundraising dog walk at Kinsmen Park begins with registration 11 a.m. The walk starts at noon.
The Soo York City Collective presents a free all-live hip-hop show for people of all ages at Cafe Natura (75 Elgin St) featuring live mixing and scratching of all your favourite funk, soul, and old-school hip-hop by internationally known turntablist DJ Seith. The show starts at 7 p.m. with performances by Mic Swiff (Fluffy Records Kool Kydz, Madd Skillz B-Boys), Killabeatz (2012 Canadian Beatbox Championship Finalist), Aries (Triple Up Records), and Gnostic (Blood Shed Productions).
Soo Greyhounds vs Sudbury home season opener at the Essar Centre. Game time is 7:07 p.m.
The Algoma Conservatory of Music presents Duo Turgeon at St Jerome Church at 7:30 p.m.
Britta Wolfert celebrates the release of her CD, Moonstone, at the Water Tower Pub, 360 Great Northern Rd., starting at 9 p.m. Special guests include Kylie Percepa and the Real McCoy.

High Rail Stables will be hosting their first Jackpot Show starting with registration from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The shows begin at 9 a.m. All hunters, jumpers and gamers are welcome to attend. All levels of riders/horses are encouraged to join, from the greener horses who just do the under saddles to the seasoned, competitive gamer. Door prizes, class prizes and exciting classes such as the Gambler's Choice will be offered. Lunch will also be available.
