ALGOMA PUBLIC HEALTH
The water should not be used for the following purposes without first bringing it to a rapid boil for at least one full minute:
- making infant formula and juices,
- making ice,
- washing fruits and vegetables,
- and for dental care.
If there are children in the home, place the pot on the back burner of the stove to avoid scalds.
Parents of very young children that may be inclined to swallow water while bathing are advised to consider sponge baths using commercially bottled water.
The reason for this advisory is for water main repairs by the Municipality and there is a potential for contaminated water to enter the municipal water system.
The advisory will remain in place until such time as repairs have been completed and satisfactory laboratory test results have been obtained.
Residents will be notified when this advisory is no longer required.
