Boat and other items located
HERRICK TWP, ON - Sault Ste. Marie OPP and Batchewana Police Service are continuing the search for a missing boater from Pancake Bay.
Fifty-five-year-old John Ross Lund of Victoria, British Columbia left a residence on Pancake Shores Drive on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at approximately 10 a.m. in an eight-foot aluminum rowboat.
Lund was last seen on the waters of Lake Superior at approximately 3 p.m. the same day.
Late yesterday afternoon, the boat, two oars and one sandal were located on the west side of Batchewana Island washed up on shore.
OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit are at the scene currently searching at Pancake Point.
Search areas of interest include Pancake Bay, Batchewana Bay, Harmony Bay and Havilland Bay.
The search will continue through today.
