sAUCEY 9/16/2013 3:41:02 PM Report

remember all the comments on the previous story on how everyone was an A$$ for bashing him and saying it was fraud and how everyone commenting is a coward and how shocked they all would be if found guilty because he is such an honest person..... hmmmm

karma sure is a female dog!! corruption in Sault Ste. Marie? unheard of!!
Snowdon 9/16/2013 4:10:14 PM Report

Gee sAUCEY, it's like everyone was waiting for those pesky little things, what are they called - facts, that's it! - to come out before they passed judgment.

Although comprehension is not a strong suit of a great number of posters here, nor is innocent until proven guilty or due process either.
lincoln 9/16/2013 4:26:06 PM Report

Gee ..so for the record.. where is ...EngineGuy...JustMe1234567 and FatCat99 ..Has the cat got your tongue now or are you too busy eating Crow!!!
sAUCEY 9/16/2013 4:28:23 PM Report

so Snowdon you think the city of ssm just fires people all willy nilly without facts? They knew he was going to be charged... I understand due process but for they city to fire somebody for fraud and then to tell me he is an honest guy? Dont bullsh^^ and bullsh^^er here.
teancrumpets 9/16/2013 4:41:24 PM Report

How embarrassing for his family, pretty cocky to think he would never get caught considering all of the charges brought forth.
OMGWTF 9/16/2013 4:53:58 PM Report

Greed and hubris swings a mighty hammer doesn't it. What an idiot.

I knew there was something up with him.

gulp. gulp. gulp.

harlley 9/16/2013 7:18:35 PM Report

I knew he was shaddy...I had many discussions with him about bringing in Entertainement to the Essar...everyone around us gets Entertianment but us...well maybe its a good thing he didn't as he would of scooped up that cash aswell..Lets hope they now get someone in that position who will bring in solid entertainment and help generate some revenue into our city...
drdm 9/16/2013 7:28:06 PM Report

So, to get this job with no qualifications, who do you suppose he is related to?
Snowdon 9/16/2013 7:28:26 PM Report

sAUCEY - yes, it would be the first case in HISTORY of someone being incorrectly accused of something. Because being charged means you're guilty right?

I have ZERO idea what happened here - which is why I'm not being an idiot on the internet about it.
tyratt 9/16/2013 7:29:56 PM Report

Everyone is so Quick to judge!!!!,..Charges May have been Laid, but doesn't mean the person has been proven guilty!!!!., Unless someone has admitted to any wrong doing, there are always 3 sides to every story his side, their side and the absolute truth.......Lets see how well the legal system works!!!!!!
rpy1958 9/16/2013 7:31:31 PM Report

Quick to judge. Why even have a trial. Someone has already found him guilty. I remember a good friend that I stood by 20 years ago. We had to listen to the stories face to face. No social media. 13 counts of fraud over $5000. Well after the judge looked at all the evidence it was clear to him. My friend walked out of court an innocent man. But a lot of people were sure he walked in guilty. Let the court judge him. I'm sure most if not all of his friends will still be that after the trial, no matter which way it may go. And please leave his family out of it.
FunMan 9/16/2013 8:01:35 PM Report

What is Council doing as far as the Manage ment Team, Finace Dept. and the CAO as far as what systems were put in place to prevent this type of thing from happening.
Didn't someone in the Ontario Works Finance get
Convicted as well a couple of years ago.
Makes you wonder what kind of safeguards they have to protect the taxpayers.
Council needs to wake up.
drdm 9/16/2013 8:18:09 PM Report

you also think OJ Simpson is innocent?
FunMan 9/16/2013 8:21:21 PM Report

I just read the story from the Sault Star and the City Staff will be looking into what other additional controls can be put in place to help prevent this type of thing from happening again.
It's nice to see that the City will be doing this.
Thanks for looking out for the Taxpayer.
Working Man 9/16/2013 8:29:16 PM Report

Heh, yeah,

I guess the chartered accountants made all those mistakes whild they were investigating all this then? Lol

JustaGuy,

wth?? Women don't think so without him having all that dough...
asp 9/16/2013 8:45:51 PM Report

Stealing WOW! Nail this guy hard, we need to stop. This kind of crime has went up. No wonder Why we don't have alot of Concerts in this city we have to go to Sudbury or to the States.
right wing 9/16/2013 9:09:21 PM Report

Not sure what the concerts we get or don't get have to do with these charges, perhaps some of you high charged intellects could shed some of your "light" on that.

Mr. Poster 9/16/2013 9:30:06 PM Report

You can expect city council to form another committee to look into this matter.
I do feel for his family though...they are the innocent ones.
1eyerish 9/17/2013 12:46:35 AM Report

If ther is 1 single person out ther that beleives any government agency is in they'r best interest...... wake the f!@#@k up it never was and never will be get a f#$K'N CLUE PPL
Right Winger 9/17/2013 7:11:45 AM Report

Wow such anger! In my humble opinion Mr. Zachary did arrange to get some pretty decent acts to the soo. I guess Cirque, Blue Man and Elton John are lining up to do Kewadin now? My guess is that Mr. Zachary will be found guilty of something. You don't bring these charges without something being up. However the motive may not have been what all you out there seem to be angry about. That doesn't make it any less wrong, but for me it makes a difference in how I look at Mr. Zachary.
wakeup 9/17/2013 7:36:16 AM Report

Hmmm i see so because this guy an his family are somebodys??? He shouldnt be shiat on or talk about his family is ney say, lol , he broke laws an is now charged, no dif then any of the other idiots we read about, but appears this jerk is special to a few of these posters, lol well to dam bad, the cheatin scum will get whats comin, an this is common place amoungst this cities employees ,
Right Winger 9/17/2013 7:55:23 AM Report

I didn't say that wakeup. I said I think his motive was not a "criminal" one. That is my opinion. Now he may have committed crimes, but he may have had a motive other than personal gain. That does not change how he should be prosecuted and punished, but it does affect how I look at him today.
I don't think a person who steals is necessarily a bad person. However the fact remains that the person stole and needs to be punished, just as if the person stole to buy an new flat screen, or stole the flat screen itself.
Snowdon 9/17/2013 8:39:33 AM Report

What a surprise - everyone here making comments about this relating to bringing acts to the Soo, well guess what? From the Sault Star:

"Sources say the investigation centred on ice time rentals and falsifying invoices."

Damn facts again, always messing up a good mob.
this is me 9/17/2013 10:46:08 AM Report

Smug son of a bitch! Have fun in jail idiot-good luck getting a decent job in the Soo now!!
keeper 9/17/2013 11:10:48 AM Report

White collar crime folks, he will get a slap on the wrist, with the promise to repay.
Mr. Poster 9/17/2013 1:08:50 PM Report

Perhaps he should take a lead from Wallin and Duffy...pay it back and go on your merry way. Oh..forgot...he is not a senator.
back4more 9/17/2013 2:12:09 PM Report

As I read through these posts, I can't help but notice that you are all idiots. Just thought pointing that out would help.
welcome2 9/17/2013 9:01:56 PM Report

I have known Trevor for years...never in my wildest dreams would I expect to see his name attached to a situation like this. I unlike many other posters believe that a person is innocent until proven guilty and I'm sure all these people ready to cast the first stone would expect the same if the shoe were on the other foot. However, having said that, if Trevor should be found guilty of the charges levied against him, I expect him to have to pay a steep price for his actions
geesmom 9/17/2013 9:54:40 PM Report

We are all not perfect. We are all driven by varied forces at different times in our lives in different relationships . We have been presented with some information regarding Trevor's apparent actions and apparent poor judgement when employed by the City of SSM at Essar Centre. We are all entitled to our opinions. Be mature about your opinions in an open forum such as this. The nature of your comments, tone, language and overall choice of words directly affects how credible your comments are. Be mindful that this is someone's son, husband and father. He may have exercised poor judgement. In the end, we all make mistakes. Be thankful yours are not out for public comment and attack.
Jack Ford 10/1/2013 3:07:59 PM Report

OK, so I know that a lot of people don't like Trev.....he's this or he's that...whatever. If I had the coolest job in town that paid big coin, I might be inclined to be an a$$ now and again or pay no mind to someone with an ax to grind over nothing important.......BUT and I say but not to defend Trevor if he did this, to say that this fish is rotten from the head on down. Let the courts figure out if he is guilty or not...BUT..

I know folks that work for and with the city and not a dime is spent that doesn't have the pachouli shtank of the CAO on it. SO for five years Trevor was able to commit fraud over 5000.oo on multiple occasions and nobody noticed???until June of 2013???WHAT? Is the CAO too busy to regulate the largest expenditure of city funds with the largest potential of income generation ??? (the Essar Center) I know that when that Jack A$$ with the crappy beer was coming to the Soo and slapping his name on the building that funds were being regulated to the point where beer glasses couldn't be ordered without the CAO having approval in signature....but somehow tens of thousands of dollars walked out unaccounted for?

Trevor may have had a hand in this action but I am sure that he did not act alone. This smells like a smear campaign....
