OPP NEWS RELEASE
(THESSALON, ON) –On September 13, 2013 at 8:00 am the East Algoma Thessalon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advise of a theft of gas which had occurred at the Lakeview Gas Bar in the town of Thessalon.
Officers located the vehicle on highway 17 in Tarbutt Township travelling westbound.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued before the suspect fled from the vehicle on foot.
The suspect was apprehended by members of the Thessalon OPP, Sault Ste. Marie OPP along with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service K-9 unit .
Steeve Lepage age 35 has been charged with
Theft under $5,000
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Flight from Police
Possession over $5,000
The accused has also been charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused will appear in bail court on Monday September 16, 2013.

to catch a thief,probably cost $2000 to find this guy who stole $50 in fuel,just a thought.should make him pay the cost for the opp`s wages(and dog food).

They get paid regardless of what they are doing, better out chasing criminals than gorging on Boston cream doughnuts and getting "Tim butts"

The police are doing Just what they are paid to do. And for the most part I think it's a thankless job. And can be very dangerous. Trying to get money from these losers is like trying to get blood from a stone.
