Small plane crash lands in St. Marys River (photos added)

At 3:10 p.m., The Sault Ste. Marie Police and Fire Services responded to a report of an airplane crashing into the St. Marys River in the area of the sewage treatment plant.

The sole occupant of the aircraft was unharmed and was able to exit the aircraft.

He was recovered from the water by an area resident.

Transport Canada was notified of the incident.

There are no further details available at this time.
