Welcome to our weekly recap of the week that was in local sports.
Hockey continues to take centre stage around town. Tryouts are in full swing and the Soo Greyhounds completed a pair of cuts during their training camp.

The Soo Greyhounds opened and made cuts after day two. The Greyhounds also announced cuts following Saturday night action..
A number of teams in the Sault Civics soccer program have performed well out of town recently including the Spirit, Fire,,,Surge, and Shock.
The Soo Thunderbirds were in town this week before heading to Elliot Lake for the Cottage Cup. After posting a 3-0 record in the round robin. The Thunderbirds then took home the tournament title.
For the Soo North Stars, new coach Don Gagnon is getting aquainted with his new team
The Northern Football Conference has announced their award winners for the 2013 season.
