Michael Casselman (age 54) of MacDonald Ave. has been charged with consuming over the legal limit causing death.
He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in bail court on Tuesday morning.
Police have not released the name of the deceased until next of kin have been notified.
St. Georges Ave at McNabb St. has been reopened.

Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on McNabb St. at Algoma Avenue
At 7:07 p.m. on the 31st of August.Police Officers were called to the scene of a collision involving a pick up truck and a cyclist.
The cyclist was transported to the Sault Area Hospital where the female cyclist succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation is continuing and further details will be released on the morning of Sept 1.

St. George's/McNabb is closed between St. Basil's School and Gladstone Avenue while police investigate a serious collision.
Earlier this evening a light coloured pick up truck appears to have struck a young woman on a bicycle.
She was taken to hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
After striking the cyclist the pick up truck apparently collided with a utility pole, shearing it off just below midway up the pole.
The top part of the pole is suspended by the wires and Sault Ste. Marie PUC is on the scene securing the pole.
The pickup truck then jumped and skidded along the top of the guardrail on the corner of McNabb and Algoma Ave. witnesses report.
It came to rest against the house on the southeast corner of McNabb and Algoma Avenues.
