The organizers of Saturday's St Joseph's Island Triathlon, held in Richard's Landing on the Island, couldn't have asked for better weather for their 10th Annual running of the event.
This year the event attracted 465 participants, the most ever. Race director Sherri Smith notes that there were only 128 in their first race 10 years ago.
Twenty-two year old Adam Fortais of Sault Ste Marie (pictured above) came in first place for the main event, the Olympic Distance Triathlon, with a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes and 9 seconds.
Results for the other events are as follows:
International Distance Duathlon - Bryan Warick of Sault Ste Marie, with a time of 2:24:25
International Distance Duathlon RELAY - Eric Piscopo and Rhiannon Johns of Sault Ste Marie, with a time of 1:57:38
Olympic Distance Triathlon RELAY - Shore Roedies, Andy Selin, Craig Bovington and Craig Keating of Richard's Landing, with a total time of 2:07:46
Sprint Duathlon - Nigel Roeda, with a total time of 1:02:11
Sprint Duathlon RELAY - Steve Roedde and Caleb Stinson (Team Stinson) of Richards Landing, with a total time of 1:03:58
Sprint Triathlon - Devin Wittig of Timmins, with a total time of 1:01:42
Sprint Triathlon RELAY - Sarah Theodossiou, Theo Theodossiou (Theodominator) of Sault Ste Marie, with a total time of 1:17:48
Try-a-Tri - Scott McCron of Aweres Township, with a total time of 39:02
There were also various children's events, including a "Kids of Steel" Under 3 category.
