The potential for severe thunderstorms has now ended in the area.

Severe thunderstorm watch ended for Sault Ste. Marie - St. Joseph Island - Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake

Severe thunderstorm watch continued for Manitoulin Island - Espanola - Killarney - Blind River - Thessalon - Greater Sudbury and vicinity

Severe thunderstorms possible today.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall.

Monitor weather conditions and listen for updated bulletins.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected over Northern Ontario today in association with a cold front moving through Ontario.

These thunderstorms have the potential to be severe with the main threats being damaging winds, large hail and heavy downpours.

There is also the risk for an isolated tornado.

The threat for severe weather is expected to end in areas near Lake Superior this morning but will increase in areas further east.

The storm wasn't to the extent that Calgary got but it was wild.
