The Ontario PC Party has launched a television advertising campaign (above) focusing on Kathleen Wynne’s role in the gas plant scandal.

“Kathleen Wynne’s fingerprints are all over the gas plant scandal no matter how much she tries to deny it,” says Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli in a PC news release.

"Together, Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne wasted at least $585 million on gas plants to save their party and then tried to cover it up.”

Fedeli claims Premier Wynne has been involved from the start, noting:

• Wynne was campaign co-chair when the decisions were made to cancel the gas plants

• She signed the government document that authorized the Oakville gas plant cancellation

• She lied about the cancellation costs to taxpayers; and

• She has known about the destruction of e-mails related to the gas plant scandal and refused to take action.

“Kathleen Wynne is no different from Dalton McGuinty,” continues Fedeli. “Dalton McGuinty has left in a cloud of scandal, but all that has changed is the nameplate on an office door as Kathleen Wynne continues his legacy. There’s no change to the reckless spending and high taxes of the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals, and the gas plant cover-up continues. Only the Ontario PCs have a plan for a better Ontario – a plan for lower taxes, a plan that grows the economy, and a plan that creates hope for the half a million of our friends, neighbours and relatives struggling to find work.”
