Jeff Elgie’s DIG newest tenant in the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre Incubator

SAULT STE. MARIE (May 6, 2013) - The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) today announced The Digital Intelligence Group (DIG), owned and operated by Jeff Elgie, as the most recent addition to the organization’s business Incubator.

DIG offers two main services - digital consulting and digital property stewardship services.

DIG’s digital consulting services exist to help clients looking to increase traffic on their websites, and generate better results.

This service focuses on the optimization of digital assets, including websites, mobile applications, and social media channels, in the areas of:

• Traffic development: identify, implement and optimize traffic sources

• Acquisition and conversion: acquire more users, members, trials, sign-ups, applications, and improve conversion rates

• Revenue optimization: manage digital channel costs, and increase revenue.

Through DIG’s digital property stewardship services, the company invests in digital assets, such as websites and domain names, builds up the sites through increased traffic, and optimizes online revenue streams.

"It is an exciting time in this business: every day we are more able to measure and optimize the entire digital environment in ways that weren't even imaginable a year ago - and I love the combination of fun and challenge in delivering these services," said Jeff Elgie, founder, DIG.

The company maintains a portfolio of over 100 web domains, and ownership interests in sites including Mackinac.com and SooToday.com.

In March 2013, and through the company’s digital property stewardship services, DIG in partnership with Lucidia Ltd., launched the new Mackinac.com site using responsive design, allowing it to translate between desktop and mobile devices.

DIG is also launching Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest accounts for the new site.

Internationally, DIG is working on two Greek Island .com sites, specifically two domains associated with Antiparos and Euboea; and has started work with an Ethiopian company manufacturing shoes to sell online worldwide.

DIG is also working to help optimize an online storefront and mobile application for a celebrity fitness trainer in Los Angeles, California.

”We are thrilled to have DIG join the business incubator,” said Tom Vair, executive director, SSMIC. “Their new service offering will accelerate companies’ online success and this is critical to business growth today. Further, Jeff is an experienced entrepreneur with deep online knowledge so it is great to have him join and contribute to our incubator environment.”

DIG continues to pilot numerous new websites and social media channels from a revenue optimization standpoint, and consults with a number of regional clients ranging from tourism to financial services.
