oh this is smart, lets put their whole itinerary on here dummies. Great idea, lets let everyone know in the world when the army is moving and to where. I think this is not too smart at all? Like common, how is this even close to a good idea putting this up. HELLLLO?
milldog74 4/16/2013 11:09:21 AM Report

hondagirl...your kidding right?...who ties your shoes for you?
milldog74 4/16/2013 11:12:11 AM Report

it's 75 soldiers on a practice exersise....what colour is your hair?
hondagirl 4/16/2013 11:34:02 AM Report

just think about it, yes these soliders are travelling, yes people should know, but i don't think broadcasting it like this is a great idea. Like just think about it, anyone from anywhere from any country can read this?
Common.
hondagirl 4/16/2013 11:36:36 AM Report

milldog74... you don't have to b***h to me and be all rude and uptight like that relax. Its opinionated and i think this is not the brightest idea.
milldog74 4/16/2013 11:50:06 AM Report

Ha...do you think that someone or something will attack because we are missing 75 soldiers from a local army reserve..that's priceless....you got a little uptight there I noticed.
hondagirl 4/16/2013 11:56:12 AM Report

i don't think you get where i'm actually coming from though , you should maybe take a media awareness class, but i'm not going to argue like a highschool kid but I just stated my opinion I wasn't being uptight either. I'm just saying thats all. :)
ITStudent 4/16/2013 12:07:32 PM Report

I'm with milldog on this one.
B Boy 4/16/2013 12:15:33 PM Report

I spent several years in a regular force infantry regiment and media releases are common for primarily for 2 reasons:
1. Convoys and packets may cause disruptions to traffic as SMP vehicles operate under different P&P to which civilian traffic is unfamiliar with.
2. Some people become anxious and nervous when they suddenly see a military contingent mobilize, especially so with large weapons and combat kit/load out.

skipper dave 4/16/2013 12:26:48 PM Report

Hondagirl - I'm with you on this one - It never had anything to do with leaving us defenceless.
hondagirl 4/16/2013 12:49:45 PM Report

exactly is had nothing to do with leaving us defensless at all. its just the hole media aspect of the whole situation. Like i don't get why it has to be as detailed as it is if anyone gets what i'm trying to say.
milldog74 4/16/2013 12:57:53 PM Report

read B Boys post...explains the reason right there...about 2 1/2 inches above your last post....
hondagirl 4/16/2013 1:10:54 PM Report

yes i seen that thank you i'm not blind. Yes warn the public that there will be a convoy with the guns but why the exact place and exact size of weapons and ammo, its uneeded?
milldog74 4/16/2013 1:16:29 PM Report

and the answer to that would fall under B Boys #2 explaination.
hondagirl 4/16/2013 1:29:34 PM Report

yes okay you win.
Wisenheimer 4/16/2013 1:32:01 PM Report

I fired those guns 43 years ago at Shilo and Pettawawa .. probably the same ones.
Tempest in the proverbial teapot. Simmer down now!
horseguy001 4/16/2013 2:22:47 PM Report

Well since canada minds its own bussiness, I dont think we have to worry about attacks here.. if the yanks kept there own yard clean instead of trying to tidy up the worls, they would not get attack,,morons..

CAMO1 4/16/2013 2:42:07 PM Report

horseguy. You can disrespect each other on this site but don't you dare disrespect the military, ours or our neighbours unless you are going to put your life on the line.
horseguy001 4/16/2013 2:43:10 PM Report

I served 22 years and have every right to say what i think about the americans. I dont think non of you could walk 1km in my boots.
CAMO1 4/16/2013 2:51:09 PM Report

Horseguy, If you served, I am sorry for that remark, but I get tired of opinionated dipshits on here spewing things they know nothing about and comments like that make me very upset. Where did you serve?
horseguy001 4/16/2013 3:54:32 PM Report

Really??? Well my friend I serves with 1rcha in Germany, did 2 tours in Bosnia, one in Somalia, Cypress, The first gulf confict,, how about you? I think I know more then you think my friend and my oppinion of our friends across is relative as I lost friends because of them to so called friendly fire. Well in there case is it stupid fire,,,,
CAMO1 4/16/2013 4:44:05 PM Report

The "where did you serve" comment wasn't a challenge, Thank you for your service and I'm sorry for you losses, we all lost people.
horseguy001 4/16/2013 4:45:52 PM Report

No worries. I would never get offended as we all have our own oppinions. I really think we have it good in our country. No matter how we all dis the Goverment out forieg policies allow us to travel freely and be welcome in any country.
KPNM 4/17/2013 10:07:11 AM Report

Wow, watching these comments progress is crazy. It was just a information release to the public. The military will occasionally have info releases to let the tax payers know what they army, this one is specifically for the 49th, is doing with their money. As well as B Boys comment is very true. The military has trucks the size of transports and towing howitzers, this can cause panic to some people. As well saying where and when they are going is hardly a threat.
