City hosts open house for proposed community bicycle park

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The City of Sault Ste. Marie Community Services Department is hosting a public information open house to receive comments on the proposed community bicycle park .

The session will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Russ Ramsay board room, Level 3, Civic Centre, 99 Foster Drive.

The proposed project to be located at Esposito Park, 36 Queen Street West, is being developed with the support of and in partnership with the Community Bicycle Parks Committee and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
 
The bicycle park will offer opportunities for riders of all ages on all types of bikes to learn and practice bike handling skills in a planned, safe and natural environment that allows skills succession through progression based features.
 
This park development design is known as a “Pump Track.”
 
The Esposito Park - Pump Track Conceptual Plan map (above) can be viewed on the City website - City Hall Bulletins or at the Community Services Department office - Level 2, Civic Centre (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
