A 14-foot effigy goes up in smoke during Lake Superior State University's annual burning of a snowman to welcome spring.
The ceremony, held March 22 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, has been going on since 1971.
A few hundred students, faculty, and staff attended the event, enjoyed spring daffodils, and munched on three varieties of barbecued Pino's sausage courtesy of LSSU Enactus.
