It is very frustrating to know of all of the effort, man power and tax dollars that are spent to capture these bad guys to only see them walking the same old streets just days later, it just doesnt make any sense to me.
phantom 3/21/2013 6:52:21 PM Report

Paddlenut...totally agree with you on said poster. They would be the first one calling 911 when needed! Give our police men and women the respect they deserve!...Would you want their job and responsibility!

Woohoo! Great job SSM Police!

sootodayreader 3/21/2013 6:59:55 PM Report

Maybe the quick solving of these robberies can help turn the tarnished corrupt past of the Sault Police reputation around.
I just hope this isn't another one of those warrants executed on an innocent person.

Probably a bunch of repeat offenders, drugs weapons, hookers big deal... What a waste of taxpayers money! Why not hang these bastards if cops want them off the street that badly.. Saudi Arabia recently beheaded 6 young people for robbery, why can't it happen here!! If people don't contribute positively to society, they should be done away with.
MR40 3/21/2013 7:55:03 PM Report

phantom..

i agree 110 percent. the people that shoot or sevices down are the first to call 911 when needed. to bad the police cant monitor the response on here and gauge how to respond to a call. im going to tell everyone on here- i resently needed our police and fire service a while back, and they did a bang up job..hats off to them all. some people on here should ride patrol some evening and see what they go threw!

MR40 - "i agree 110 percent. the people that shoot or sevices down are the first to call 911 when needed."

Source? Proof? People always say this, how is it at all true and how would you be able to know this? How would you be able to know that people who complain about police are the first to call?

Here's the answer - you don't.

And you know what? Police officers should be held to the HIGHEST STANDARDS of anyone - they are armed, they uphold the laws, they use force, and they have power. Why on earth would people not be critical of this profession? It NEEDS people to be critical of it with the amount of power police have (and let's be honest, beyond physical fitness there aren't a ton of intelligence requirements to be a police officer, this is well known).

Stop repeating this BS that you cannot substantiate.
sootodayreader 3/21/2013 8:17:45 PM Report

Why are the police in this city getting shorter.
Each year I see more and more midgets. In the old days those big belly cops that had big boots and were 6'4" at least would intimidated criminals.
crashed13 3/21/2013 8:30:32 PM Report

Not sure if its the TD Robbers but...

Is armed robbery not arm robbery?

Why do the "put the gun to the head" of a bank teller get the swat team.

They sure do not do that for the armed robbers of gas stations a corner store employees.
Paddlenut 3/21/2013 8:35:31 PM Report

Soo Today has an agenda. It deletes posts it obviously feels are not in whatever interest it feels suits it best. None of my posts have been offensive or derogatory, they have only attempted to express opinion that for whatever reason is apparently contradictory to their viewpoint

Most of you have NO idea what it takes to be a police office. If the job is so damn easy I'd like to see you with a badge and deal with the issues they have to see on a daily basis. I work with the police on a regular basis and they do amazing work and have a huge amount of respect for the people they deal with, even the people in hand cuffs. Grow up and either start helping the police and giving them the respect that they deserve o SHUT UP!!

italian.girl16 3/21/2013 10:27:36 PM Report

seriously all you guys trash talking the police and stuff really grow up lets see all yous take on the job of being a police officer..its not as easy as you all think and to who ever thinks that the job is easy and dosent involve alot of intelligence your wrong...think of it like this it takes one quick mess up and you can loss the case one quick mess up in the report, not mentioning the persons rights to legal counsel or there rights to know why they are arrested. missing something like that is crucial. Not only is just making one mistake crucial in keeping the case it takes a lot to be a cop. lets see all yous try to remember the many different legislative from cover to cover. the criminal code, youth criminal justice act, controlled drug and substance act, firearms act, the highway traffic act and any other provincial legislative. there a lot more behind the eyes of being a police officer some of yous should learn some respect for those that actually want to put there lives in harms way in order to protect all. also yous are complaining about are tax dollars going to waste take a look at how much it actually costs to house an inmate or keep someone in jail its a big chunk of your taxes as well going to the disrespectful scum bags who like to break the law
Prrrrrrr 3/21/2013 10:35:47 PM Report

Yep you're right, it's a choice made to get into that type of work and they are well paid for it!!! It's a job and some do it better than others, like in any other JOB!
Dbradey4 3/21/2013 10:38:19 PM Report

It's very unfortunate and disrespectful how many people make fun, or light of the crimes that has happened in our community on these posts. It's sad how many people just want to post to gauge a reaction from others and don't think of the people who have been victimized from these crimes. Put yourself in their shoes and see how you would feel. Also, our law enforcement have an extremely tough job to do in this city and it's sad this community is quick to judge them. We should be, as a community, looking out for one another.

Our City cops are nothing but Spoiled glorified Security Guards that carry a gun. Get real Like to see them in Toronto or Vancouver.
andrews 3/21/2013 11:56:03 PM Report

Why do people assume this raid cost a ton of money? Did you think they only called in a bunch of offduty officers and everyone got overtime? I think it more likely the only expense was gas money to get there...
Also, most of us were raised to treat others with respect, and then we'd get it in return. Why all the disrepect for police? People suddenly forget how they were raised?

So many bitter-betty`s on here today!

Firstly- Let`s hope news comes that they got the touque-twin bank robbers!

KMF61MCF- boy you sure seem hostile `bout things, make me think you`ve had some issues with the law, which would be fine, but it might explain your contempt for the cops.

S.M.A.R.T.- who cares about typos and grammar, it`s the internet. As long as you get the drift of what someone is saying why make fun. So school yard bully of you.

andrews - unfortunately there is a whole slew of young adults in this town that really just don`t give a f___. They really don`t.
They`ve been in the system since young ages, they are `government kids`
They have zero respect for police, or anyone. Going to jail for 30 day stints or 90 day stints is fine by them, in some cases it`s better than home, in others it`s because they have nothing anyway.
But I digress because we`d need a whole other comment board to go into my theories of why these kids (now young adults) are the way they are.

Anyayyyyy...I vote for... Bank robbers are in custody! Hope I`m right.

I know someone in the force... turns out is was not the bank robbers, it was the Hamburgler and Grimace. Apparently they have been hiding out for the past decade after a huge happy meal heist. That explains why we havent seen them!

I believe there's a link here?
Check out the time of the home invasion vs the arrest time of the suspects and also observe the location of the arrest... hum, maybe i'm wrong but i don't think so.
