Sault Ste. Marie digital consulting firm DIG launches destination tourism site for popular Northern Michigan retreat Mackinac Island

The firm partnered with another innovative local company, Lucidia Ltd., to bring the revamped site of www.mackinac.com to life

SAULT STE. MARIE - A freshly revamped site for the popular tourist destination of Mackinac Island, owned by Sault Ste. Marie firm The Digital Intelligence Group (DIG), launched Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

The site offers tourists and interested travelers a 360 degree look at the accommodations, attractions and services found in the charmed Northern Michigan destination Mackinac Island.

The new portal, which was brought to life by two Sault Ste. Marie online forces, DIG and Lucidia Ltd., serves as a one-stop resource for the best attractions, accommodations, and dining options, as well as wedding planning tips and area event guides.

The recently improved site is sure to be a valued source of information regarding the tourist destination, as it adds more information and interactive components.

The web resource is anticipating more traffic than ever before.

Even pre-makeover, the site attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

With thorough event listings, information on accommodations and services in the area, and a guide to entertainment and attractions, everything you need to know about Mackinac Island can be found quickly and easily on this user-friendly site.

“I have visited Mackinac Island on many occasions, and love all that the destination has to offer,” says the project lead of the site launch, and founder of DIG, Jeff Elgie. “I have also had the chance to work with amazing clients and businesses in their area, and am eager to give them a platform to promote their services. This launch of the updated site, which includes a number of new features, will allow everyone to see what Mackinac has to offer.”

The interactive site is not only user-friendly for information seekers, but also includes an operator management platform, which allows local businesses the opportunity to contribute their own content to the site, including photos, videos and special offers.

This allows businesses to generate content that is delivered directly to interested visitors, giving them access to valuable information directly from the source.

Mackinac.com is built using responsive design, allowing it to translate seamlessly between desktop and laptop computers, to tablets and mobile devices.

To complement this updated online resource, DIG is also rolling out accompanying Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest accounts, in conjunction with the launch of the new website, so information will be available across social media platforms for interested parties.

The new site launch is the result of collaboration between two innovative companies.

DIG is the owner and operator of Mackinac.com, which was designed and built by Lucidia Ltd.
