Woo Hoo! Eric Barton!

Monday, March 18, 2013   by: SooToday.com Staff

Eric Barton has received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal.

In a congratulatory letter to him, David Sculthorpe, chief executive officer of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, wrote: "Eric, you have volunteered with the Heart and Stroke Foundation for 36 years, including being Chapter President for 15 years.

"Over that time you have provided CPR training and conducted heart health presentations, as well as canvassed and organized special events that has taught and empowered hundreds, if not thousands, of people in your community with the knowledge, confidence and skills to save a life.

"Through your achievements and sustained contribution you have distinguished yourself from others within your community.

"Your hard work, innovative ideas and dedication have helped to build not only the Heart and Stroke Foundation of today, but the Canada of today.

"Again, congratulations on this recognition of your significant contribution."
