Woo Hoo! Brett Davie!

Biathlete Brett Davie is competing  at the Canadian National Biathlon Championships in Whistler, British Columbia.

Brett competed in two races on the weekend and has two more on Tuesday and Wednesday.

His first event was on Saturday - a sprint race.

This race was 7.5 km with two bouts of shooting - one in the standing position and the other prone.

Brett came fourth, shooting 6 for 10 and missing out on a bronze by 40 seconds.

On Sunday he won his race, which was a 10 km pursuit race with four bouts of shooting - two in the standing position and two in the prone.

Brett shot 16 for 20 and skied in the time of 30.32 minutes, 1 minute and 15 seconds ahead of the next competitor.

This is his first gold medal at the national level.

Brett's race on Tuesday is the 12.5 km individual race with one minute staggered starts for each competitor and four bouts of shooting.

The mixed relay follows on Wednesday.
