Hockey fans: You’ll want to tune into this year’s Easter Seals Telethon

Easter Seals Ontario is pleased to announce that it will be broadcasting its 30th annual Sault Ste. Marie telethon March 24 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Shaw TV channel 10.

The Sault Ste. Marie telethon always has an added twist for those who call in their pledges.

For many years, with tremendous support from Joe Maione of Maione Collectables, donors have the opportunity to win fantastic sports memorabilia throughout the day.

All of the Maione Collectables donations are on display at the Station Mall in the old Suzie Yu store front.

Don’t miss out on these prize opportunities!

Draw(s) for individuals who donate $100 or more on the day of the Telethon:

  • Bobby Orr NHL autographed jersey
  • Steve Stamkos 2011 NHL All Star jersey
  • Paul Kariya NHL Anaheim jersey

There will also be draws open to all who donate in that particular segment.

“Working with many local charities the last 25 years one group stands out for myself and that is Easter Seals. The families and the many children involved in the programs are truly inspiring and any financial support of in kind donations can really help with travel, summer camps, and medical equipment.“ - Joe Maione

Call 705-254-KIDS(5437) on Sunday, March 24 to assist children and youth with physical disabilities and their families.

Easter Seals began in 1922 as a vision to create a better life for children and youth with physical disabilities.

Today, Easter Seals continues to offer programs and services to help these children achieve a greater level of acceptance and independence, such as financial assistance for mobility and communication devices, fully accessible summer camp and funding for other summer recreational programs.

Easter Seals also provides access to information and resources, as well as public education and awareness.
