Let’s talk city budget

A Sault Ratepayers public open meeting is scheduled for April 3, 2013 in the Russ Ramsay Room from 7- 9 p.m. with the purpose of discussing the 2013 municipal budget currently before council.

There have been in the past year public meetings hosted by the City Finance Committee to obtain public input.

As ratepayers, we value the effort and contributions of open meetings held this year hosted by the City Finance Committee and recognize how important meetings such as these are in the development of open conversation with regards to the budgetary process.

It is common practice that in order to have any meaningful dialogue pertaining to a topic, research and careful review of all available material can and will garner a better understanding and input from the public.

Now that the 2013 budget has been released to the public as of March 15 we are informing the ratepayers of Sault Ste Marie who have an interest in the financial process to take the time to come out and actively participate in this Ratepayer hosted public meeting.

Copies of the 2013 Municipal budget will be available for review.

An invitation has been extended to the City Finance Committee asking for their participation as guides and resource to those that attend.
