Smoke tells the story in Vatican City

That's the bottom line after 115 Roman Catholic cardinals voted for this first time to select Benedict XVI's successor.
The first ballot result was verified by the appearance of black smoke from the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City.
Voting will resume tomorrow.
